***NOTE: Unlike others who show their cars as selling, but turn around and run their auctions multiple times, I will only list this car on Ebay once. My cars ALWAYS sell. Maybe not always on ebay, but they never sit around long because they are good, solid, clean cars priced way less than the ridiculous asking prices of the large collector car dealers who make YOU pay for their overhead and advertising costs. So do not hold back because you think it may pop up again on ebay later at some unicorn-like reduced price. It will not. If you need additional pictures of something, please contact me by phone or email and I will get them for you. ***
This is an extremely nice, well-built, big-block, factory Ram Air Mach 1 in show-ready condition.
This car was built by a very particular older gentleman with an eye for performance, quality and detail. The 429 big block is very stout and includes Offenhauser aluminum hi-rise intake, Demon high performance carb, Weiand aluminum high performance water pump, aluminum radiator, aluminum trans cooler, electric fuel pump, all-MSD high performance ignition components (wires, distributor, coil, 6AL box), and headers with manually removable block-off plates and full exhaust. The C6 automatic shifts cleanly via a Hurst performance shifter and turns a Traction-Lok 9-inch rear with a 4.10 gear set. The car is also upgraded with professionally welded-in sub-frame connectors, KYB shocks, and traction bars. Retains its original power steering and power disc brakes. This car is a beast, and sounds amazing. I can post a video of the car running for serious buyers.
Body and paint are in excellent condition with no significant flaws. No rust anywhere on this car, including quarters, trunk floor, floorboards, or torque boxes. Paint is beautiful silver blue metallic, with contrasting blue and iridescent stripes. All stripes and decals are actually paint, not vinyl, and very well done. Front and rear spoilers plus rear window louvers are very nice. All glass is excellent, and the rear chrome bumper is new.
I just spent over $1500 on new, high quality polished **aluminum** Magnum 500 wheels, with equally nice gloss black centers, new center caps, and brand new BFG Radial TAs, 245/60/15 rear, 225/60/15 front. You can still see the stickers on the treads in the pictures.
The interior is gorgeous, with new upholstery, carpet, headliner, door panels, and a perfect fold-down rear seat. The rear pass-through is original and un-cut, and the rear panels are in excellent shape. The dash is also excellent. The Auto-meter tach works great, as do all of the supplementary gauges under the dash.
I could go on, but you get the idea. This is an original M-code, 351 Ram Air Mach 1, and was originally equipped with Magnum 500 wheels, per the Marti Report that goes with the car. Originally red on red, I have no idea why the previous owner restored the car with the changes he did, so there's really no need to ask, as your guess will be as good as mine.
The only items I'm aware of needing attention are tightening of the belts (as they will squeal some at higher rpm), and a very small exhaust manifold leak on the back passenger side. I may get to these items if I get time. If not, they'll be easy weekend tinker projects. Also the horn is not hooked up but all of the wires are there.
Overall, a well-built, rust-free, big block, Ram Air true Mach 1 with beautiful cosmetics, interior, and trim.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS: Please have your permissions and financials in order BEFORE placing a bid. This is not a game for me, nor should it be for you. Appropriate feedback will be left for non-paying bidders. I don't rip you off with fake, pure-profit paperwork fees. There are NO DOC FEES associated with this sale. However, A $1,000, NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is due within 72 hours of auction end. Full payment due within 7 days. Car remains with me until full payment clears. No exceptions. Car is sold "as is," with no warranties expressed or implied. This is a very nice car, but like any classic car (restored or not), it will show certain signs of wear and have minor imperfections, no matter how well restored. Please remember this is a 47 year old car, and should not be confused with a 47 day old car. I strongly encourage personal inspections, and will make the car available to anyone wishing to do so during the auction. I have nothing to hide and will disclose everything I know, but the buyer is ultimately responsible for making his or her own judgment as to how well the car meets his or her particular needs. I can help make transportation arrangements, but buyer is responsible for all associated costs. Title is free and clear and will be signed over to new owner upon full payment.
