Car description |

The Volkswagen Beetle set records with production and sales throughout the world. The car started off as a simple car for basic transportation and never really moved to far from that initial goal throughout its life cycle. Yes, there were some improvements and creature comforts, but VW stayed true to its roots of manufacturing a car that the average person could enjoy and be able to keep on the road for a very minimal cost.
We are super excited to bring to the market for only the 3rd time in its life this stunning 1979 Volkswagen Super Beetle convertible. This car represents the last year of production to the US market. The very low miles on this car at just under 28k is documented in several receipts and the condition is very reflective of the miles. Sold new out of Precision Cars of Grand Rapids, Michigan in Feb of 1979 to Mr. Gus Vandermuelen. The car remained in the Grand Rapids area exchanging two other owners before getting moved into a very high end collection. This vehicle represents itself very well and is a joy to drive. The trim, paint, chrome, interior and mechanics are all in very good condition and it is evident that this Beetle lived a charmed life.
All lights, turn signals, horn, radio, clock, and heat work properly and function as you would expect. The convertible top is in excellent condition and the proper factory boot cover is in great shape. Inside the seats are in great shape, carpet is proper and the dash and trim work is gorgeous. Vehicle starts up quickly with the fuel injection system and idles with ease. Our test drive revealed a spirited drive with clutch engaging properly along with all four gears and reverse.
Very few of these exist in such well cared for condition and with miles under 28k this might be one of the nicest on the market today. Vehicle comes with clean title, several service records, factory original owners' manuals, two keys and front bra cover. Time to buy a piece of automotive history that you can't go wrong with...guaranteed.
