Car description |
---|
This van has been well maintained and is very reliable. I originally got it from Tennessee where it spent its life (very very little rust on this), and have made several 1500 mile trips back since then to go to Bonnaroo and camp each year.
Converted from passenger van, to camper, this 84' vanagon has oem westfalia interior cabinetry and pull out bed. I sourced all of the interior and then refurbished it. The van has new subfloor and hardwood - I also have put sound deafening strips throughout the entire interior paneling of the van. I also have installed a full solar power system and usb charging ports, along with a power inverter for standard plugs. Edison bulb light strip, and completely reinsulated cieling with an American flag headliner. With all of the cabinets and closet this thing has all the space you'll need.
In addition it has a road shower, this means pressurized showers on the go. All of this, mounted to a Yakima mega warrior with a rack extension. The tires are in great shape and have tons of life left in them. I also just installed a new radiator and spark plugs, and had a compression test run coming back with excellent numbers. The speedometer did get stuck last spring at 149k. I have only put around 6,000 miles on it since. The horn contact ring was changed out 2 years ago due to the horn not working, it recently stopped once again. A new contact ring is $20 from GoWesty and it was very easy to install, just didn't bother since I rarely honk and only need it to pass inspection. The air conditioning is all in place and blows, but not cold. Heat works fine. I never bothered with the air because the wing windows do quite a good job!
More pictures and information available for the serious buyer. Won't last long, these don't get listed much nowadays. Clean, clear title. Happy to ship on the buyers dime. Cheers!
