Car description |

1984 VW Vanagon Westfalia full camper in great condition with original paint. No major rust, as the previous owner who had it for 17 years stored it winters and they said the owner before them did as well. One of the first places these rust is the driver's side lower seam, and you can see this one pretty clean there. This has its original paint so nothing is hiding behind previous bodywork or a repaint.
Here are the pluses and minuses:
Minuses:
A few minor dents, scrapes and dings here and there as seen in the pics.
Pop top tent needs some repairs/patching and I have the matching cloth for that.
Passenger seat has what looks like tar on it that you may be able to chip off...it is hard now and does not transfer to your clothes.
Carpet has square center section cut out (see pic)...not sure why that was cut out.
Some residual adhesive on cabinets in a couple places from where someone put some decals and then tried to remove them.
Cushions have some stains, but may clean up.
Sliding door inner door panel is cracked.
Driver's side footwell has a small rust hole.
Pluses:
Runs and drives great...engine redone about 10 years ago and driven little since then.
Very solid all around.
Nearly new tires.
Has Behr AC unit.
I have a binder and envelope full of receipts for all the work done on this van.
All cabinets in great shape.
Carpets are in good shape, other than that square cut out as seen in the pics.
As I think of more things, I will update the auction. This can is ready to go and you can take care of the cosmetic issues as you go or just drive it as is! I have too many projects so this has to go.
Please ask any questions you may have or if you have any other pictures you would like to see and I will promptly get back to you. Thank you for looking!
On Apr-01-17 at 18:06:16 PDT, seller added the following information:Additional details about appliances:I just now tried the stove and the shut off valve on the tank seem to leak when I turn the knob to open, so I shut it back off..so that should be addressed. I plugged in the fridge for a while and it seems to get cold but a little hard to tell because it is 38 degrees here today. Lastly, there is no water in the tank, so I am not sure if the sink pump works. I may try adding water tomorrow and see if it works then.I had a question about the AC...it appears the compressor is missing, so the obviously the AC will not blow cold. Both front and rear heat work great, but the rear heater may need a new heater core because it smelled slightly of antifreeze...I think that core is easy to change, however, as I think it is right there under the rear seat.Clarification on engine...it was replaced with a good used one in 2011 and many of its parts were replaced during the swap out. I have a scan of receipts I can send you for work done since 2004 if you send me your e-mail. I can also scan earlier receipts as well, if you would like to see those. Is that one picture of the undercarriage where it looks like peeling...that is actually the undercoating peeling off in places revealing the white factory undercarriage paint...not rust. The carpets do need a good cleaning...just wanted to clarify that.
