Car description

This is an extremely nice, numbers-matching, small-mouth 1956 Triumph TR-3 roadster. It had a complete frame-off restoration approximately eleven years ago and has been well maintained ever since. The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate is included confirming the car retains its original motor and body.

HISTORY: The previous owner was a long time British car fanatic who owned and restored several cars. He did a very nice job restoring this car, and he made two modifications from original: First, the car was originally Signal Red, but he changed it the current shade of beige. Second, he custom fabricated his own floor panels in order to install longer seat tracks to allow for a very tall driver. By simply removing the rear seat, the front seats slide back far enough for virtually any driver. I am 6'5" and this is the first TR3 I've ever been able to drive in complete comfort (with the rear seat out.) The carpets and rear trim panel are properly finished underneath the rear seat, so it still looks totally correct with the rear seat removed.

BODY / PAINT / CHROME / INTERIOR: The body and undercarriage are in excellent condition and the paint looks very nice. The bumpers, chrome and trim are in excellent condition. The interior is in beautiful condition with very little wear. The top, side curtains, hood stick cover, and tonneau cover are also in very nice condition. The owner drove the car with the rear seat removed, so the front seats are slightly faded compared to the rear seat (which looks brand-new.)

MECHANICAL / ELECTRICAL: The car runs and drives extremely well. The engine has excellent oil pressure and the compression ranges from 154 lbs to 159 lbs in every cylinder. All of the gauges, lights, and electrical systems are in great working order. The tires still have plenty of tread, but they are pretty old so they should be replaced. The odometer reads 07288 so I assume it has 107,288 miles.

TITLE TRANSFER AND PAPERWORK: I am a long-time classic car hobbyist and a licensed Florida car dealer (Classic Investment Motorcars Inc.) This means that you must complete the sales and title transfer forms with me, which can be done in person or through the mail.

DOCUMENTATION FEE: We charge a flat fee of $100 on all vehicle purchases to cover postage, preparing paperwork and forms, and other dealer costs. This fee cannot be waived and applies regardless of whether you are an individual or a dealer.

SALES TAX: If you live in Florida or are picking up the car in Florida we must collect the applicable sales tax and tag/title fees. If the vehicle is shipped out of Florida by common carrier I do not collect the sales tax (you will take care of that where you live.)

DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT: A $500 non-refundable PayPal deposit is due within 24 hours of the end of the auction. The balance must be paid by cash, cashier's check, or wire transfer within seven days of the end of the auction. All cashier's checks must clear my bank before the vehicle can be released. If the winning bidder fails to pay in accordance with these requirements, I may, at my option, make second-chance offers or re-list/remarket the vehicle and the deposit will be forfeited by the bidder.

SHIPPING: Arranging and paying for shipping is the responsibility of the winning bidder. We will always do our best to cooperate with your shipping company, be it domestic or international. We may also be able to help you arrange shipping at a very good rate, but the responsibility will remain with you.

THIS VEHICLE IS BEING SOLD AS-IS, WHERE-IS, WITH NO WARRANTY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. If you are unsure about bidding please come inspect the car in person or have it inspected by a reputable third-party inspection service. Please bid only if you are serious and are able to complete the purchase. If you are the winning bidder you will have entered into a binding contract to complete the purchase in accordance with eBay rules. The sale location is Bell, Florida, Florida law governs, and venue lies exclusively in Gilchrist County, Florida.
