Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this very honest and super solid TR4A with the desirable independent rear suspension option. This car was just purchased from it's Colorado owner of at least the past 8 years who spent plenty on the car with lots of documented improvements. The car was used often for work and some around town trips, and proved very reliable. This beautiful Michelotti designed car is offered in a classic color scheme that suits the shape very well, and is fitted with durable 72-spoke wire wheels.The body on this car is very nice, straight, 100% honest and bone dry. The car's underside and frame appears amazingly 100% rustfree, solid, and lovely with no issues. The bottoms of all the outer panels look fantastic with no evidence of any repairs. The body on this 4A is one of the best we've seen in a while. The paintwork appears decent for a driver, but upon close inspection it shows to be an older modest repaint now losing it's gloss, showing some chips, scratches, and dulling off in places. Chromework overall is very good with a mix of original and a few restored items.The car's interior overall looks extremely good with newer upholstered seats, top pad, wood dash, windshield glass and rubber. Door panels are newer, along with a powder coated top frame assembly and excellent fitting new quality soft top. There is a box including the original Triumph radio and a new glove box to be installed.Instruments all operate correctly.Mechanically, it's like most of these Triumphs that are as tough as old boots. The car starts easily on the key, revs well with good oil pressure, with very little smoke on cold start up. There are receipts documenting a rebuilt gearbox, 3-piece new clutch, new tires, spin-on oil filter assembly, front suspension bushings, tie rod ends, steering boots, fuel pump, water pump, oil seals, rebuilt IRS diff, front/rear shocks, generator, brake parts, etc. The car drives nicely down the road with no issues and a healthy exhaust note.The car could use a few finishing knick-knack items like trunk boards, some interior trim tidying, a few body seals. There is a large box of new and used spares that acoompany the car. Ultimately, it would benefit from a quality repaint at some point down the road.Overall, this very honest TR4A IRS Convertible has had plenty spent on it in recent years.
