This classic Toyota runs and drives as good as it looks with no mechanical issues. Professionally rebuilt 22R mated to refurbished 5 speed manual transmission with new clutch and flywheel all has less than 100 miles on it and engine includes a 2 year warranty. This is the very last year for the live straight front axle Hilux in the USA. Truck has never left Tucson, Arizona where it's so dry that vehicles can't rust. Ice cold AC professionally converted to modern 134A freon. 4 new 31" tires mounted on Pro Comp rims. Clean notarized title and many thousands in receipts documenting new parts and labor with entire drive train still under warranty. Jump in this truck and drive it coast to coast feeling confident it needs nothing but gasoline. If you've ever wanted a really nice vintage Hilux the time to buy is when you see it. 22R (2.4L) 4 Cylinder:Legendarily reliable 22R runs like an industrial sewing machine. Starts every time with a click of key. No smoke, no knocks, no leaks, no issues whatsoever. Justtorquey smooth quiet power. Surprisingly quick.Excellent throttle response from rebuilt factory Aisin carburetor. Wants to bark the tires off every stop. Runs cool even on Tucson summer days thanks to the new upgraded V6 aluminum radiator which is twice as thick and an inch taller than stock. Professionally rebuilt engine with polished crank, new rings and pistons, new rod and main bearings, new timing chain, refurbished cylinder head with 3 way valve grind, plus all new seals and gaskets. Of course the fuel pump and all the ignition parts are new along with all the fluids and filters. The exhaust has the factory catalytic converter so it's emissions legal in every state. 2 years left on engine warranty. Turns out one of the reasons the 22R is so reliable and desirable is that the blocks were hardened with more nickle content than even old American muscle cars. 5 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION WITH GEAR DRIVEN TRANSFER CASE:Factory 5 speed manual transmission was removed and gone through with worn bearings replaced and new seals installed. It shifts nice and smooth as you'd expect with a brand new clutch master and slave cylinders, clutch disc, pressure plate, throwout bearing, pilot bearing and new flywheel. Fresh gear oil with new seals means there's no leaks. The 4x4 engages smooth as designed. The 2 speed gear driven transfer case is the strongest humans have ever produced in this class of vehicle. Aftermarket Superwinch manual lockout hubs engage the 4 wheel drive as designed. SUSPENSION,WHEELS and TIRES:It drives tight like a new truck.No rattles, clunks or squeaks. The brakes are new on all 4 corners as are the wheel cylinders and master cylinder. 4 new rancho shocks and steering dampner. The four new 31x10.5x15 Kelly Safari All Terrain Radials are mounted and balanced on 4 new 15x8 Pro Comp Street Lock simulated bead lock steel rims. Newer matched size 31" Goodyear spare on a 15x7 OEM steel rim stowed under the bed in the factory location. DIFFERENTIALS:Both factory differentials are stock with 4.10 gear ratio, open carriers and no leaks. All the gear oil is fresh. INTERIOR:Exceptionally nice and clean for the age. Everything on the gauge cluster works as designed. All the lights, signals and electrics work except the horn and aftermarket stereo deck which doesn't power up. I decided to leave the sound system up to the new owner. The window regulators work smooth because they're both new. Odometer reads 242k but the entire drivetrain is like new with less than 100 miles. The heat blows hot and the AC blows cold. The freon and fittings have been professionally converted to the modern 134A. The factory Toyota bottle jack with tools are stowed behind the seat. FRAME and BODY:This truck has no rust. Never been repainted and the original factory white paint is in remarkable shape for being 34 years old.From under the hood to underneath the bed you can still see the original factory white. It's obviously never been wrecked. The bed box has been bedlined. There's a class 3 receiver hitch out back with a removable clevis recovery point. Aside from a couple paint chip and scratch touchups the only real flaws are the sheet metal has a few minor imperfections hard to spot in pictures - the most noticable on the driver's side being (1) some small depressions on the bedside above the rear wheel well plus (2) a ding on the lower rear bed corner and (3) on the cab there's a small ding on the rocker panel lower pinch weld. (4) There's a couple depressions in the driver door skin. (5) The passenger side has some small ripples on the door skin plus (6) the front fender and (7) the hood. Most of these flaws can be removed by a paintless dent repair specialist. INSURANCE:This truck is eligible for historic plates in any state. That also mean it's eligible for Collector Car insurance from outfits like Grundy Worldwide or Haggerty which costs only $12 per month for a $10,000 full coverage policy. That's right. A stated $10k full coverage collector car insurance policy is only $12 per month and emissions are forever waived. PAPERWORK:Clean and clear notarized "A" box Arizona title is ready to go. Receipts documenting most all the important new parts and labor included. Engine has 2 years left on the warranty. Transmission and clutch has a year left.
