Car description |
---|
Let’s talk horsepower…. but first, let’s flashback to 1989 when Porsche’s 944 Turbo was the fastest production four cylinder car of its time. It was capable of going 0 – 60 in 5.5 seconds and reaching a top speed of 162mph. With only 4,103 produced, only 1,385 made it to the states.
As if the astonishing 247 horsepower wasn’t enough of an incentive to own one of these rocket ships, the turbo model had the desirable “M030” option which consisted of Koni adjustable shocks in both the front and the rear with ride height adjusting-threaded collars on the front struts, progressive rate springs, larger hollow rear anti-roll bars, harder durometer suspension bushings, larger 26.8mm hollow anti-roll bars in the front and chassis stiffening brackets in the front frame rails.
Other sporty options include the Club Sport Wheels and rare sunroof.
This rare and desirable Turbo is owned by one of our storage customers here at SoCal Classic Car Storage in Laguna Hills, CA and he has decided to downsize his personal collection. This 944 Turbo is completely original from top to bottom. The odometer shows a mere102,896 miles. Scheduled maintenance and service was always performed on the engine and drive-train. The transmission also shifts smooth as it should. The car tracks straight going down the road without any vibrations or noises. This 944 has been pampered and it’s very apparent while behind the wheel.
The body panels and the paint finish present well without any damage or oxidation. It still has a deep lustrous shine. As seen in the photos, the interior has been well preserved also. The seat covers are soft and pliable without any cracking, rips or tears. It has an after market roll-bar which was tastefully installed and can be removed if one desires. The car also sports air conditioning, cruise control, power door locks, power windows and power seats. Not only will this Porsche look appealing parked in the garage, but you’ll be able to have some fun on the open road. Whether your weekend involves a day at the track or a cruise up the highway, this classic Porsche is an absolute blast to drive. With it’s front engine, 2.5L Turbo and rear wheel drive, it truly drives like a Cup Car.
As the spectrum of classic Porsches continue to climb in value, the 944 is becoming more collectable than ever before. The best part is that they’re still affordable and therefore leaving you with a little gas money.
After watching the classic 911’s climb in value over recent years, we all know by now that the 944’s are a solid investment.
If you’re in the market for a well preserved, iconic Porsche, then come take this 944 Turbo for a spin. When that turbo kicks in, you'll be grinning from ear to ear and you'll be guilty of wanting more.
