Car description

Hello, my name is Steve, I have several parts and vehicles for sale on Ebay. This is my 1976 Plymouth Duster. I don't really want to sell her, but health issues and expenses cause me to do so. It is a limited production vehicle... in 1976 Chrysler Corporation created two vehicles to compete with imports at that time, the Plymouth Feather Duster, and Dodge Dart Sport Lite. What was special about these was the fact that the bodies used aluminum hoods and rear deck lids, also cast aluminum bumper brackets, and special tuning for the 225 slant 6 engine, which included a distributor with special advance curve, aluminum intake, and specially tuned carburetor to attain more than 35 mpg on the highway, quite a feat for that time. My Duster still has the original body components, original paint, A833 4-speed overdrive transmission, specially geared 2.94 rear axle. Unfortunately, the person that sold this car to me a while back removed the original engine. However, I have a complete 225 slant 6 out of a 1970 Duster that only had 73,000 miles on it. The engine was running quiet and smoke free when it was removed. I do have the original numbers matching transmission, linkage engine mounts, flywheel, clutch, driveshaft, and a brand new gas tank that will go with the car. If you look at the pictures closely, you will see a dent in the rear body panel near the right side tail lamp. Unfortunately the transport driver caused this damage when the car was being unloaded. It can easily be repaired, or a complete new rear body panel can be bought from AMD or other vendors for around $300. Also the only rust I have seen on the body is on the passenger side rocker panel below the door (see picture). Other than that the body has NO dings or paint chips whatsoever and is in AMAZING condition. Check out the pictures of the inside of the trunk....the paint everywhere is still shiny and no corrosion....the black you see is foam residue from the factory trunk mat I removed to take the pictures. Also the interior is amazing for the age of the car....the carpet is faded and needs to be dyed/replaced. The headliner is near perfect, the door panels, and side rear panels are near perfect....the upper door and rear trim has no cracks and just needs to be cleaned.....the steering wheel shows normal wear, the instruments and radio look perfect, as does the glove box door and inside. The dash pad has deteriorated and needs to be replaced, but is available from several sources. Check out the spare in the trunk.....the original one!! a 6.95X14 General. It has the original rallye wheels, trim rings, and centers. Look at the picture of the front!!!.....zoom the picture in and notice how almost perfect the grille is....and notice not even a paint chip in the hood or fenders! The front bumper shows almost no signs of any corrosion. Look under the hood and see how amazingly clean the engine compartment is......it could easily be detailed to look almost new....the outside paint on the body is the same way, if compounded and waxed, would look like new!! This car could be restored to original, or easily be made into a high performance car...it has all the right stuff.....the aluminum body components, 4-speed transmission, and great color FE5 Rallye Red, ....check the build code on the fender tag...A31...for 1976 indicated Feather Duster or Dart Sport Lite. I have a clear title for the car, but I do not have a way to load the engine if purchased....the transport company should have provisions for this. This is the ultimate Christmas present for any Mopar enthusiast whether you want to keep it stock, or make it into a beautiful muscle machine. If you have any questions, or need more information, please e-mail me. Thank you for looking, please bid to own if interested, this car will not disappoint. Have a blessed day. Just a final note....this car is for sale locally, and I reserve the right to end this auction if sold early.......
