Car description

Listing for a family friend is an extremely rare bird here a 56 Packard Caribbean 2 door hardtop, 1 of 263 produced that year, and very small amount left in existence today, car has Power everything, Has 73,605 actual miles, Has a factory unmolested Dual 4 barrel carb'd 374 Packard engine that we have gotten broken loose and turning over and firing off a little gas straight down the carb, but misfiring heavily due to one of the spark plugs broke off while removing them. we have a video of it turning over upon request i can email it. We do not have the original air cleaner for the car. The car is equipped with factory Air conditioning thats mostly there, the vents come out the upper dash and pop up and down. This car has a push button automatic transmission. This car has an automatic torsion leveling suspension that worked when we had the engine turning over and leveled the car up and down. The car is so complete and original its just unbelievably cool. The dash is decked out with buttons, and features, radio, clock, ash tray, very amazing condition dash pad. Power windows, we only tried rolling the drivers door up and down and it worked fine. The factory blue ac glass is all in very great shape few little chips on windshield, and small passenger side glass crack in corner, but no fogging around edges like most older cars of this era. There was one repaint over the original paint thats still in the jams and firewall and such, but it was matched close to factory colors. All the trim and emblems are there and in very fair condition for its age. you can tell the car was meticulously maintained from the previous owner, who parked it in washington in 1982. The body on this car is very clean as you can see in pictures, absolutely no major rust, There is some small we would consider surface rust in the lower black painted area, on front fenders and around the rear wheel skirts and lower quarter, nothing major at all. The interior is very nice, seats are sittable still and they have the option to be flipped over like a boat and have cloth peppered material out instead. Only major thing to change on car would be the carpet. The motor could use freshening up, we got 7 out of 8 spark plugs out. Even the oil was still clean on the dipstick, and theres oil change stickers in door jam for around 50k miles which helps authenticate the low 73k miles. The car has a padded vinyl top put on the roof that is starting to come apart along the seams on each side, but could maybe be sewed back together or easily replaced, we just cleaned up the car to show its originality to the best we could and make sure the mechanics were workable. it even has dual mirror and dual rear power antennas. Like i said we are selling the car for a family friend and we know the rarity of this beautiful classic, its just time for them to move it on to its next owner who can enjoy it as much as the old man did who owned it for a very long time.
