This 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 W-30 Tribute gets the fundamentals right. After all, it gives you that awesome big V8 power you love, bright red style, and an interior correctly detailed, right down to the buttons on the seats. So this is the kind of hardtop that's just the ticket for the true muscle car enthusiast.
When you're a proper tribute to a legend, you need to get the sporty details right. The big twin hood scoops, hood twist locks, correct 442 badging, and a notched rear bumper for the dual exhaust really get the look right. And the optional spoiler on the back is as big as an airplane's wing to make sure people really know to take notice. So this car has a nice speedy style. Plus, it upholds the premium image of an Oldsmobile, too, with the shining form-hugging chrome bumpers. This coupe is correctly finished in its factory Matador Red. The addition of the white stripes painted on the hood and funning the full length of the coupe stand out nicely while also adding to the sporty style. The whole package has a good shine, but nothing too fancy that you won't be afraid to enjoy this one out on the streets. And the muscle car motor reminds you that's exactly what this hardtop was made to do (more on that in a moment.)
This is a true muscle car, and so a black interior is always top on the desirability list. This has a cool/classic presentation with the button-top seats and plenty of wood-like trim. Even the Oldsmobile AM radio is still there for display. So if you have family or friends who appreciate vintage style, this one can carry them in plenty of comfort. But as always, the best seat is always going to be for the driver. You have front bucket seats with an armrest center console in-between. And yes, this has the Hurst His-n-Hers dual gate shifter. Oldsmobile's four-spoke sports steering wheel feels nice in your hands, and it gives you a clear view of the full round gauge package, including the upgraded tach.
Under the hood is one of the best features. It's the mighty 455 cubic-inch V8. This upgrade is a period-correct block with a tidy setup within the classic red inner fenders. This inhales deeply with a Rochester Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor. It exhales with added power and authority as a seriously mean set of headers feed the dual exhaust. Not only do you have true muscle car power, but it's easy to enjoy thanks to a well-maintained and strong-running package. There are even nice driving features, like power steering, a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission, power brakes, front discs, and wide BF Goodrich T/As on Super Stock III wheels.
Oldsmobile made less than 800 Cutlass 442 W-30 coupes in 1972, and this was the famous generation's final year in production. So this red-devil tribute gives you all the power you want without having to pay six-figure price rarity. That makes for an irresistible deal on an iconic Olds. Call today!!!
