Car description |

Up for sale is a beautiful 1961 MG MGA that has been owned by current owner since 1973. This has been a garage kept car. Approximately 15+ years ago he had a body shop start a restoration on it and the shop had misjudged how much work would be involved so sadly this car was never put back together by the shop. While in the body shop it was stripped down to the frame and repaired and built from there. There is only one spot that we noticed on the car right now with rust and everything else is SOLID! When the car was taken apart the sills and rocker panels were all redone too. All the hard body work has been done. It has a beautiful paint job on it and still to this day is very shiny. The panels all fit tight and and aligned very well as they should be.
As you can see by the pics there are number of parts included. In fact, there are enough parts to complete the car totally and extras will still be left. Some of the parts are...
New front windshieldOld front windshield and frameDoor windows and framesAsst chromeBrake partsHubcaps used ones and a complete set of new ones in the boxLuggage rack with the "body straps" to prevent scratchingHeadlightsReplacement MGA badging
Battery cover that goes behind the seatsPair of upholstered seats in excellent condition. They were redone and never installedPair of floor boards made from plywood (as they were can be replaced with metal if you want they are findable)Carpet kitNew steering wheelWindow rubbers new in bagMounting brackets for the seatsGrill and rubber moldingNew exhaust
Car cover for while in storageDual carbs included
Now I should mention this car will run. The carbs are currently off to be rebuilt but they did not get rebuilt as planned. But get them rebuilt and reinstall and it will run. It has been a long time in the garage and just needs someone who is ready to be the one who puts her back together. Show her some love. Bring her back to life. When the restoration was started it was never meant to be a show car. The work was done properly and very well but it is not "concourse" level. What can you do with this car?
The heavy lifting on this car has been done...body work is basically completely. You just have to put the parts back on the car. When the body was painted the motor was not removed and therefore the engine compartment has not been touched. But would be easy for someone to remove engine and repaint the engine compartment. Also, I had mentioned that there was one speck of rust on the trunk lid. Seems strange, aluminum trunk lid but there is a small spot that doesn't show up in the pics very well but small like maybe a quarter? The tires will also need to be replaced.
There is no top included in the auction you will have to do that. When stored the car was covered but the top is in bad shape and not included.
I am selling this car for a friend.
I have a lot of pics of this car....both current pics and pics from when the body work was being done on it. If you would like to see more pics email me and we can set that up.
No warranty expressed or implied on this car. This is the 2nd time I wrote this auction tonight and might have forgotten something. So please feel free to ask questions. If i don't know the answers I can find the answers out for you.
Shipping is the responsibility of the BUYER. I would suggest that you find a shipper that will ship in an enclosed trailer so that the car doesn't get rained on till you get a top on it.
Any questions feel free to ask. Title is in hand.
Don't forget to look at my other auctions. Good luck.
