Great driving and sounding, fun car for special days. Treat your senses!

Current family has owned for over 40 years and now has 40,100 miles. Purchased car in 1978 from an individual in the same town with 36,000 miles. Current owner performed most yearly maintenance and repairs. Car had major services in 2015(head replacement) by local English car specialist(see copy of bills in pictures). The car has had an obvious repaint at sometime during its life as it looks so good. Car has had a partial interior restoration performed, and other parts provided(see pics).

* Heater

* 2 sets of wheels and tires(custom & wires) see pics

* Solid body

* Newer trim- (partially installed or provided)

* Convertible top

* Tonneau cover (may need fitted & snaps)

* 2 steering wheels- (stock & custom)

* Wooden dash included

* Sliding side windows

* Same owner 40+ years

* Includes drivers handbook

Paint-

* The paint is very shinny and matches all the way around, with a nice shiny finish.

* It is not the highest quality show paint we’ve seen, but a really respectful finish..

* There are a few nicks on top of both rear and front fenders, and a couple on the center of the doors(see pics).

* The seller will provide extra paint, and an easy touch up (spray or brush) could be made.

* Looking closely in the bright light, you will find a couple of fish eyes, but they are almost undetectable.

* We do not have an age on the paint.

Body-

* All the fits of the hood, trunk, and doors are all nice and uniform. (See pics)

* The upper body is nice and straight much as you would expect to see new on this car.

* There are two very minor dimples on the trunk just to the left of the MG emblem on the trunk lid(see pics).

* The sides are nice and straight with a small almost undetectable dimple on the left front fender.

Magnetic Paint Gauge-

* In taking several readings on each panel of the car its show between 6 to 10 mils of material (except for the doors, hood, and trunk as they are of a non steel material.

* The car is very uniform all the way around.

* Those readings where also found in the rocker area, and lower fender areas.

Bright Work-

* All the bright work appear to be secure and in place properly.

* The front MG emblem, the windshield frame, rear taillight bezels, and license plate light does have some light pitting, but still very shiny.

* The rear bumper is almost like new condition, the front bumper does have a ding in the left bumper guard, and a ding on the right bumper, and the chrome is good on the front. There is included in the sale all new bumper parts for the front. (see pics)

* The front grill has minimal wear, but does have a small ding about six inches to the right side of the emblem. (See Pics)

* The bar that runs between the bumper gaurds is tarnished and pitted.

Glass-

* Windshield has the Triplex Plate emblem.

* The windshield does not show any delamination, dis-coloring, cracks, or wiper marks, however there is a small nick about one foot over from the left side.(see pics)

* The side windows are not showing to much wear.(See pics)

Top-

* The convertible top seems to have good color, and could probably use a little washing and dressing.

* The top feels soft and supple, and the rear plastic windows are not damaged but slightly yellow. (See Pics)

Interior-

* The family had made plans to update the interior because the car was so solid, and had such a nice body. They purchased a kit but at this point only the seat coverings have been installed. The rest of the interior panels, and associated pieces you will see in the photos of extra parts.

* The interior kit is from Moss Motors, and included is a wooden dash cover.

* The interior kit does not have carpeting, but can be purchased if a new owner choose to do so.

Tonneau Cover-

* The tonneau cover is the correct cut to fit the car however the snaps do not seem to line up correctly.

Trunk-

* The fifth wire wheel is in the truck as a spare.

* The trunk does include the jacking device with the spare, and the factory style spare hold down

Tires and Wheels-

* Nexen SB802

* The wire wheels that come with the car have not actually been tried on the car so we are unsure of the fit.

* The tires and wheels on the car are not factory type.

* Left front- 165-80-15 9/32 Tread remaining

* Left rear- 165-80-15 9/32 Tread remaining

* Right front- 165-80-15 9/32 Tread remaining

* Right rear- 165-80-15 9/32 Tread remaining

Engine and Transmission-

* The engine compartment appears to look mostly stock.

* In photos see bills about the $3000 plus that was spent around 4 years ago.

* Other than the addition of a possible non-original air filter, and what appears to be a new sensor it all appears to be the original factory design.

Chassis-

* Though the chassis does contain surface rust, it looks like it is a fairly rust free car. Looking closely at the pictures will give you a feel for the general condition underneath.

Mechanical-

* Windshield wipers work

* Windshield washer is dry

* Choke does operate

* Starter switch does operate

* Red light for ignition is operating

* Amp gauge works (reading seems opposite from correct)

* High beams and low beams work on left and right side

* Horn works

* Interior door latches work

* Taillights work

* Tachometer is working

* Speedometer is working

* Switch in dash for parking lights works

* Left and right blinkers work, front and rear

* Brake lights work, left and right

* Front marker lamps and tail lamps work

* Right reading lamp and switch work

* Fan motor operates, and lever for temperature adjusts

* Demist does work and pulls out

* Air volume control is operating

* Blower has one speed and does operate

* Air flow control button works

* Emergency brake holds but does not lock in place

* Radio not working

* A temporary battery was installed to operate the car.

Test Drive-

Chad drove several miles with the owner on back country roads. The car started well, ran well, and smooth. The car accelerates well, and the steering seems very responsive and car steers correctly down the road. Car has a nice quick, smooth responses to the left and right. The transmission seems to up shift, and down shift correctly. The clutch operation seems to work properly. Upon braking the car brakes smoothly, and does not pull to the left or right, however I do not think we are getting the full stopping power the brakes could produce. Over all the car is fun to drive, and has a nice sporty feel going down the road.

Note- The 1978 titles does not indicate if mileage was actual or not.
