"Sabrina" is an excellent example of one of the last "chrome bumper", actory overdrive MGBs. In the mid-nineties,she was re-painted to her original teal blue, iven a new top, nd new leather upholstery. Since that time, he has been driven very little, nd kept in covered, limate-controlled spaces. From 2002 to 2014, or example, he was driven just over 2,000 miles. There does not appear to have ever been a bit of rust on Sabrina. Before purchasing her, had her inspected by a body shop that specializes in older British cars, nd he reported that there was absolutely no evidence of body fillers or any indication that any panels had ever been replaced. As of this writing, he finish is as close to flawless as one could expect it to be.I recently removed the cylinder head, ecause I wanted to install hardened exhaust valve seats in order to use unleaded gas. At the machine shop, he head was magnafluxed, leaned, esurfaced, nd all new valves/springs/guides, tc. were installed along with the hardened seats. The engine does not burn oil, nd the compression is perfectly even on all 4 cylinders. While this work was being done, re-built the SU carburetors and installed a new electronic distributor, new coil, nd new plug wires. All hoses are in excellent condition. The transmission works smoothly, ith no noise, nd the overdrive is a real pleasure when driving on the freeway.
