Up for auction is my 1970 MGB Convertible. This is the desirable chrome bumper version with split rear bumper. This is a Midwest car showing 66,383 miles. The engine is a 1973/74 with code 18V672Z-L18200. The engine starts right up with the manual choke and runs strong, o smoke, o overheating, ood oil pressure. It does leak a little oil, s many MG's, ut it's a minor leak and has not been an issue. The twin SU carburetors were rebuilt last year. I have taken the car on several trips, he longest 450 miles and it didn't skip a beat. I would do more without hesitation. I have added a new gas tank, new fuel pump, new brake master cylinder, new calipers (not rebuilt), new front pads, new flexible brake lines, new rear wheel cylinders, hoes and drums. I have also installed a NEW clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder. The 4 speed transmission shifts very nice and does NOT pop out of gear. The tires are in great shape, ith a bit over 3000 miles on them. The spare tire is new and never been on the ground. The exhaust is OK, as a small crack where the converter used to be, t could be welded. The engine compartment is very clean and looks very nice. The interior: the seats are in good shape, o tears or bad seams. I use a top boot that is in very nice condition. I have a tonneau, ike new that has hardly been used. The convertible top is in fair to good condition. I never use it so it's never been an issue. The plastic window isn't cracked but a bit foggy. There is a small hole, bout the diameter of a pencil that was caused by the frame pinching the material. It could easily be patched. The top windshield gasket/seal needs to be replaced. The carpet is in great condition and I've added new rubber MG floor mats. It appears that the original AM/FM radio is installed. It was disconnected and I haven't tried to hook it up. The speedometer, achometer, il Pressure, uel Gauge, orn, urn Signals, ight Switch, ipers, eater Fan Switch all work. I installed a new Heater water valve as well. The seat belts are original 1970 belts, ot perfect but I prefer them over aftermarket belts. I have a car cover that comes with the car. The previous owner did the body work and paint. The driver and passenger floor, uarters and rockers were replaced. It's not a show car as there are minor nicks and imperfections. I've included a picture of the quarter panel seam, river side, hat is visible. However, ou can see from the pictures the car still looks nice and I feel the price reflects the condition. I still get thumbs up when I'm on the road. I enjoy the car for what it is and that is a fun, ice looking, ood driving car that is very dependable. I had purchased a 1970 MGB identical to this car - new - in 1970. This car brings back many fine memories but the fact of the matter is that I don't get in and out of the car as well as I did 45 years ago. I have two other projects that I need to work on and I don't have room, ime or energy for all three. The car is located in South West Michigan, ip Code 49099 and is available for local pickup or could be shipped via the U-Ship companies listed on E-bay.
