Car description

Up for sale is a near mint 1982 Mercedes Benz 300D turbo diesel sedan, or as I dubbed it "The millennial Falcon”. Has gps, apple carplay, Satelliteradio, AMG paint matched wheels.
Why am I selling her? (AND IF THE AD IS UP, THE CAR IS STILL FOR SALE)
Long story short this was my first car, then a fantastic beach car when I bought something else, but recently my other car was completely totaled in a head on collision with an unlicensed, uninsured, driver who ran a red light.

I'm mostly ok, but now I see how dangerous driving can be, so I need to sell this baby to help me afford something with as many modern safety features as possible and that I can use for Uber.
I lowered the price to what I bought her for originally; $4,500 OR best offer. I had to lower the price; The ER bill from the accident came and I need all the money I can get. P.S: NEVER GET MAPFE INSURANCE.
VIDEO OF CAR RUNNING AND EVERYTHING WORKING: https://youtu.be/YGGKOzdxSho
Runs strong, revs well, has nominal blow-by for an engine this age, the breaks do work and you can move and stop the car but they need to be bled or looked at.
This was and still is an amazing classic daily driver, and an absolute road trip destroyer.
I took it to death valley/ Las Vegas is 2016, and it was problem free (although I got a ceramic window tint done at a limo company in Nashville TN, it was a HOT summer and that really too the edge off) and its been on quite a few more road trips in it life before and since.
Total engine rebuild when I bought it at 245,500 miles, Done at "Little Foreign Car garage and bosch service center”

Has an official, solid nickel "Mercedes high milage" award with documentation.
I am the second or third owner, I bought it from an old doctor's family around Ipswich in 2013 or 14, I looked into it once but can't remember if he or HIS father was the original owner.
These cars are so long lived and well loved they usually end up being passed down more than a trusty leather jacket.
When I've done the math (and kept the tank clean of soot) I've measured getting up to 25mpg city, around 28-34 highway. What other classic (or modern) car with this much class and style can make that claim?
I was never worried about being far away from a full station out in the dessert or deep in the woods.
She starts right up and runs perfectly, BUT probably needs new break lines or break bleed to be able to drive her home: there might be air in the system, a stuck pad, or they might just be weak from sitting, etc. I just don't have the space or time to find out of fix it.
I replaced all the break components before storing her for the winter 2018, but unfortunately they got some air in the lines from sitting all winter, because everything looks fine.
So although all the parts are new, she probably needs a tow and a quick fix before being road worthy again.
I replaced all the break parts, pads, rotors, master cylinder, etc last winter with the intention of going on another road trip this fall, but they got AIR bubbles stuck in the lines, so although the breaks "work", they are weak and the area the car is parked in is extremely hilly and full of kids running around so its just safer to tow it to a place to get the breaks looked at.
It's been customized and modified a bit over the years to make it more livable in 2019, and minimal rust for its age and being used in the northeast. But nothing "douches" it up or takes away from the essence of a vintage luxury car.
But ALL original parts are included if you really want to take it back to stock. It also has a few rare EOM options from the time:
-Original German made, period correct AMG color paint matched 16in wheels! (RARE option, standard 14in "bundint" rims included from original owner)
-Original AMG style "clear" turn signal covers (looks better than the dayglow orange US ones)
-Ero style yellow fog lights
-Power Sun roof
-Cruse controll
-Original road triangle
-Revamped Air Conditioning
-Factory Limited Slip Diff rear end (this car works surprisingly well off road, or in snow and sand)
-NEW $600 head unit with Apple carplay/ Android auto/ Sirius XM radio (in a hidden James Bond "Goldfinger movie style" flip out) pioneer screen (bluetooth, GPS, car tracker/parking reminder, remote control, wireless hands free phone control, the works)
-All new updated speaker system installed in 2015
-Dynamt sound deadening (doors, trunk, floor, hood)
-Ceramic window tint done in 2016 in TN at professional tint company.
-Cold air intake, exhaust update (faster, more responsive throttle, but quieter), and turbo refresh in 2014 (still have ALL original parts, included with sale)
-Bosch Boost gauge from said turbo refresh
-Spare tire replaced in 2016
-Larger ventilated disk breaks and pads, and break master all replaced in 2018
-Original engine block heater for FREEZING starts, although I've rarely had to use it)
-Heated rear window
-Air con converted to modern gas, (needs a refill every year but MAN is it cold)
-Brand new Yokohama tires
-New Bosch battery 2017
-LED interior lighting
-Original 1982 Mercedes Keychain
-Original booklets, Owners manual, maintenance pad
It's a post 1980 Mercedes, so the interior is non-horse hair filling, so that there is no horrible smell or deterioration of the seats. Leather is in fantastic condition.
The car is almost 40 years old, but you would really have to strain your eyes to see time having any affect on it. These where built to a standard you just don't see in cars (Mercedes especially) anymore.
Solid and precise full metal engineering, and quality so good they actually almost went bankrupt before the bailout in 1990. People just never had to "replace" their cars haha. Sort of like a ladder, or hammer: you buy one for life and never need a new one.
This has so many more miles and "smiles" to give, no matter how corny that sounds. I really hate to see her go,
but after I kind of need the money more than a second car right now... I almost thought I would own her forever, since she never really breaks fully down. But Its stuff like this you never see coming and now I need to put the money towards something else.
also selling outside of Ebay, and happy to sell it in the real world as well.
