This lovingly restored 1983 240D is in near perfect condition. The exterior has been repainted at a cost of $4,000. Much of the mechanical aspects of the car have been replaced with Mercedes OEM parts. This includes most of the parts associated with the AC system, the vacuum system, the suspension and steering. The brake calipers, rotors, pads and sensors are new. Ball joints and control arm bushings are new. Even the gas tank was removed and cleaned. We have put just short of 13,000 miles on the car and it runs beautifully. The entire restoration was done at a cost of over $25,000.The engine was completely rebuilt to 0 TIME by a Mercedes master mechanic using all OEM parts. Included were:Pistons, Cylinders, Rings, Main bearings, Rod bearings, Chains, Chain rails, Water Pump, Oil Pump. Freeze engine block was sentto the machine shopwhere it was boiled out and checked for any imperfections before assembly. Belts are new as well. Additionally, the transmission was completely rebuilt at a cost of $2,700.As well, a new Pioneer Bluetooth stereo with four new speakers has been installed. The car always gets comments from people as to it's condition for it's age. Unfortunately, we don't need the car and spent way too much money making it nearly perfect. It was always going to be an extra third car but we just don't have the space to keep it any longer. So hopefully it will find a good home with a garage!Best of luck.
