1971 Hurst Jeepster CommandoOne of the Rarest Jeeps MadeUp for auction is my 1971 Hurst Jeepster Commando. I purchased this 5 years ago with plans to do a frame up restore, ut unfortunately have not had the time to begin the restoration. My loss, our gain.I have not attempted to start the motor, ut the previous owner stated that it will run. I have no reason to think otherwise.Vehicle has all emblems, pecial build tags, nd Hurst options. Shouldn't take much to get it back on the road, r restore as an investment. Not just a rare vehicle, ut also in a rare unmolested state.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------7/5/2015 - There has been a lot of interest and questions on this vehicle. Here's the answers I've sent so far...Pictures of dash, ngine compartment, nd undercarriage (to the best of my ability - I don't have a lift) were added. It appears that a previous owner had an undercoating applied to the frame and underneath the vehicle.Floors - seem (and feel) solid. However, have not pulled up the carpet. Underneath and frame appears to have an undercoating applied. Cargo area is surface rust where it has been scratched.Tailgate - the worst rust is right below the license plate (see primer area in picture). There is a small area where it has rusted through the outside metal. All inside metal is surface rust only where it has been scratched. Rusted where the tailgate pivots, ut functional. Tailgate is in a lot better shape than many of these. Tailgate is repairable/restorable.Rockers - in good shape. Only see surface rust, xcept for a couple of small rust holes on the passenger side.Production Date is June, 970 according to the yellow stickerlocated inthe driver's door well.Added better picture of Special Order Build Tag (The silver one under the Paint/Trim tag)--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Vehicleis being sold locally. Seller reserves the right to end auction early. Buyer is responsible for all cost ofshipping and pick up.Sale is As-Is.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------7/6/2015 - The original seat upholstery (charcoal) exists under the seat covers. Appears the re-upholstery job is slipped on and attached/stapled at the bottom of the seats. Condition of original material is unknown, s I haven't pulled of the re-upholstery job. I can't imagine it would be perfect - or they never would have been redone in the first place.
