Car description

History:These Jeepster Hurst Commando are very rare! Records indicate that fewer than 100 were built in 1971 and a about 60 exists todaywith only a fewAutomatic original paint unrestored survivors.Jeep Teemed up with Hurst Performance Products to do a sporty version of the Jeepster Commando,a special one year only model which included:Four-wheel drive and a choice of transmissions-three-speed manual or three-speed Hydra-Matic.Every Hurst Jeepster Special came equipped with Jeep's optional 160hp, 225-cu.in. two-barrel "Dauntless" V-6 plus 6-inch-wide steel wheels and Goodyear G70 x 15 custom wide-tread tires with raised white letters. Standard equipment also included a roof rack, full wheel covers, and a sport steering wheel with brushed aluminum spokes. Bucket seats and a rear seat were also standard equipment. The only body color available was Champagne White, with red and blue sport stripes applied to the cowl and tailgate. Special Hurst equipment included an 8,000-rpm tach mounted in an ABS housing set on the hood directly in front of the driver's line of sight plus a Hurst T-handle shifter on manual-transmission or a console-mounted Hurst Dual-Gate shifter on the automatics that came straight out of the GTO. There were also Hurst badges on the doors and hood sides. Every Hurst Jeepster was a hardtop station wagon.
Jeep Story:I purchased this Jeepster in 2017, from the third owner in KS, the original owner passed away in 1979 Chicago,ILIt sat in his garage untilhis wife passed away early 2000. Her neighbor took care of her until her last days. The wife left everything house and all contents to the neighbor. The Jeepster was in it.The neighbor's daughter ended up getting the Jeep, She kept it in her garage for many more years. ended up moving to KS and brought it with her.I bought the Jeep from her neighbor which by the way she ended up giving him the Jeep prior to moving to TX, he brought it back to life and drove it for about 200 miles.I'm not planing to give the Jeep to my neighbor ;-) so here is your chance to own a rare piece of American history! This is a low millage original paint survivor, one of the rarest Jeeps ever built.Body is strait and in great shape for being nearly 50 years old, some surface rust and rust in the usualplace, stock untouched Jeep still have the original spare tire.Runs very well and starts up the first time every time.
