1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 390 FE “S” Code - NO RESERVE!
Offering up an original big block 1969 Ford Mustang 390 FE “S” Code TRUE Mach 1 with a clean Virginia title, Marti Report with new Door tag!
A project car worth putting the time and effort into as these big blocks are going for a nice price. I recently acquired this with the intent on working through it as these are getting hard to find but something else came up just overnight that I'm going to let this go. The car at some point had been pulled apart, some metal work completed and sat and then was attacked with surface rust. It’s been in dry storage for a while now however and ready for someone to build it out.
The motor and trans are the original to the car! This is a true “S” code 390, C6 Auto car (see pics of date code on block and has original “Z” intake manifold) and was originally Candyapple Red with black-out hood treatment. The VIN is in place on the dash as it should be. The c6 is still attached as is the pully’s and power steering pump. It’s also a disk brake, with power booster and power steering optioned Mach 1. See Marti Report. The tented glass is all there and in very nice condition! However, no front shield which should be replaced on a restored car anyway.
What I have for this car is the Mach 1 seats (seat internals are great, cleaned up are usable but better to reupholster of course), the interior door skins (very nice shape - worn where the plastic inserts that you fingers slide into), and not much else for the interior as you can see by the pics. All of the plastic pieces and cardboard sails are easily available online as well as the dash pad, carpet, etc. I have the heater box but needs repaired/rebuilt. I have the gauge cluster in walnut and the passenger side clock in walnut in nice condition!
As I mentioned, if you can see through the surface rust, the floors (some repairs in the past) and rails are in good shape, just surface rust, the engine bay walls are as well and some areas had been repaired. The quarters had been repaired and replaced poorly as far as I’m concerned. They could be used and massaged as-is but they over lapped the edge instead of full all the way to the roof line which I prefer. But you may not be such a stickler. The doors could be sanded or blasted down and reused but new ones are not that expensive any more. I have the inner hardware to the doors (see pic) and as I mentioned very nice glass. The front fenders could also be used with some areas of rust in the bottom corner. Again – a pair of new ones are not expensive. The hood should be replaced as there are many dents… cheaper to get a new one for $150 bucks then the time to work the metal. I have a bunch of the chrome trim as you can see from the picture.
I have the grill (needs paint but very nice as there are no weak spots or broken bolt downs or fins within and nice lights and trim and more important is the headlight / corner fender extension sections are excellent condition with no broken or snapped off areas as they often have. I do not have bumpers for this.
I may have missed something and will add as I think of it... Feel free to ask questions. Additional pictures by request. We are a shop and I buy, sell restore these often. I know what FE Big Block Fastbacks are worth in any condition – from parts cars to finished product. This is a nice car that when done will make someone a nice high-dollar fastback! Honestly, it was not my intent to sell this one, but as I have a business to run… and something hit the market over night that I need to get funds far...
I may have an interest in trades with cash and can even accept credit cards (full or partial payment) if you pick up the 4% that the credit card company charges for the transaction.
I can pack this up and may have a closed trailer transport guy that I can connect you with at your expense of course. International buyers welcomed.
