For sale is our rust free survivor 1978 Ford Bronco Custom. It is finished in Light Jade poly. The Bronco was delivered new in Fallon Nevada. And lived all of it's life in Nevada and Northern California until August 2019. The Bronco was produced in the first week of 2nd generation Bronco production in September of 1977. This Bronco was originally owned by the US Forest Service, it still has the remnants of a headlight flasher, siren and CB antenna mount from its Forest Service days. The Bronco was ordered with a number of unique options, especially for a Custom including a factory push bar, A/C, rear seat delete, limited slip and much more. The attached Marti report documents all the options.
The heart of this truck is a 351 cubic inch V8 backed by a C6 automatic transmission. The engine bay is a good clean example of original. The previous owner recently changed the radiator, water pump, distributor, carb, ignition module and did a good tune up. It is still fitted with the factory 3.50 gear ratio and limited slip rear end. The Bronco runs and drives good.
Truck wears a set of Ford 15 inch wagon wheels with Cooper M/T tires in 33x12.5R15 with roughly 50% tread.
The exterior of the Bronco is in great shape over all. For the most part the body is extremely solid and all the original panels are in great shape. The paint has a great patina and does have some chips, scratches and issues as expected and you can see in the photos. The Bronco is rust free as you would expect from a life in Northern California. The wheel wells, cab mounts, floors and all other common ford truck rust spots are in amazing shape on this truck. The frame and underside is all original and clean. The fiberglass top was refinished by a known shop that specializes in bronco and blazer tops.
The original low back bucket seats are still present, and have no rips or tears. A rear seat has been added by the previous owner and also has no rips or tears. The carpet is in good shape. All the gauges, lights and switches work as they should. The Bronco needs a radio as the previous owner kept his. The rear window still works as it should. The factory heater still works as it should and just had the heater core replaced, the A/C needs a belt and charge. The evaporator core had to be unhooked for the heater core to be replaced.
This is hands down one of the nicest survivor Broncos I have ever been around. More photos available upon request. Ask any and all questions before bidding.
