For sale is my 1978 Ford Bronco Custom 4x4 showing 33,000 miles on it. The truck was sold new in Seminole Texas, and worked Airfield Operations at a west Texas airport most of its life. Based on the fact it was an airport service truck and then off the road from 2000 until last year I would believe there is a good chance the mileage is real though I can not confirm that. The truck is very rare, it is 1 of 39 painted in Wimbledon White and Bright Yellow and 1 of 7 Custom's with these paint codes.
Our Custom was highly optioned considering its a Custom trim, the attached Marti report shows all the options but some of the important ones are A/C, Skid Plates, FM Radio, Bright Grille and larger radiator and fuel tank.
The heart of this truck is a 351 cubic inch V8 backed by a C6 Automatic transmission. An Edelbrock Carb and Intake are the only non-factory things under the hood. Truck just had a minor tune up.The Bronco runs and drives amazing. It is hands down on of the best running old trucks I've had. All of the A/C equipment is there but it needs a belt and a charge, I had to remove the A/C lines to change the heater core. Fuel tank was replaced as well as sending unit with a NOS Ford unit, original tank was too dirty to clean after fuel sat in it since 2000. Truck wears a set of 15 inch wagon wheels with BFG All Terrain 33/12.5R15 tires.
The exterior of our Bronco is in good shape over all. For the most part the body is extremely solid and all the original panels and floors are in great shape. The paint has painta'd as expected with time as well as has the expected stone chips from airport use. The roof / hood shows more paint wear than the rest of the truck, the paint has baked off the hood and roof likely from long days on the airfield. There is minor surface rust in spots, as would be expected with the worst of it on the bottom of the tailgate. See photos. The wheel wells, cab mounts, floors and all other common ford truck rust spots are in good shape on this truck. The frame and underside are clean and solid for their age. The fiberglass top is still solid as well.
The low back bucket seats have been recovered in original color and style material. The vinyl floor mat looks to have been replaced at some point as well. The dash pad is still original and crack free. All the gauges and switches work as they should. Rear window still works as it should. The original spare tire and spare tire cover are still retained, the date code on both is from early 1978.
Overall it is one of the best and unique old Ford trucks I've owned. Many more photos available upon request.
