NO RESERVE BID TO WIN!
Hello everyone,
I'm selling one of my projects, I know it looks ugly (unless your into the original patina look) but any real car guy knows that surface rust is nothing! Must see to appreciate how solid this truck really is!
it's a 1977 Ford F-250 4X4 Custom "Highboy" with the Explorer package. It has a 400-M V8 with C-6 transmission, don't listen to the internet experts on the forums about the vin number being able to identify it, this is a real "Highboy" with the narrow 33.5" frame and divorced transfer case with three shafts (see picture above)... the engine fires right up, and the transmission shifts perfectly. I was told the trans was rebuilt a couple years before it was parked so it might only have a couple thousand miles on it but I can't prove it, Also the original owner said the odometer only rolled over once so it has 141,000 original miles which seems right for the condition it's in. This is a 99.9% rust free CA truck. the only spot that has some pitting is under the hood and it's very minor, I show it in the video I've included below... The truck was parked for several years just sitting when I got it, last year, I've rebuilt the entire front brake system including new rotor, pads, brake lines, master cylinder, rebuilt calipers (the booster is not new but working well) I also repainted the wheels and hubs and put new beauty rings, lug nuts and new hub lock knobs and of course it has brand new tires on it (maybe 5 miles on them) I also replaced the fuel filter, oil, and battery. the interior was decent but I recovered the front seat with new upholstery, I re-dyed the carpet and installed a new dash pad, the door panels and headliner are original. the floors are amazingly solid and rust free Pictures are included above. I've only driven the truck to my tire shop a couple blocks away and around my neighborhood to test things like the brakes and transmission, it is currently on Non-OP with CA DMV so there are no past due penalties but im sure it will need a tune up to get it to pass smog, if you are going to keep it here in CA, otherwise most other states shouldn't be an issue with smog. It's a great truck that only needs a little more to finish restoring it. I was planning on going back original with the color and blue stripes (which I have) but I have to many other projects and this one has to go, so I can work on others. Please read the entire description, watch the video, and then If you still have questions please feel free to contact me at my number listed below or email me through ebay.
From Wikipedia...
"The model line was offered with several appearance packages . For 1974, the Explorer package was offered on the F-100, F-250, and F-350 (and the Ranchero and Bronco), consisting of color-keyed exterior and interior trim, badging, and wheelcovers."
Now the legal disclaimers...

All bids and or deposits are final there will be no refunds, it is a 42 year old used truck that is sold as is. therefore I recommend a pre-purchase inspection. Your bid is a contract so please serious bidders only. I have the vehicle listed for sale locally as well and I reserve the right to end the auction early at anytime due to local sale. I have tried to be as clear and honest as possible, so please if you need more information do not hesitate to contact me prior to placing a bid. I accept cash in person (preferred), ANY OTHER type of payment or check will be subject to a hold (up to 14 business days or until I feel comfortable releasing the vehicle) after receiving payment so I can be certain the funds have been verified and are cleared of any possibility of fraudulent activity on the buyers part. Basically once I know that you aren't a scammer and I feel safe I will release the car. Good communication is key. If you bid you agree to all of these terms.
