Car description |
---|
This is a very cool built RPU Hot Rod Gow Job! The entire suspension assembly, front and back, are all stock model A in good condition. Both front and rear springs have had leaves removed and the front spring has a reversed eye main leaf. Front shocks are model A and are good but the back does not have shocks.
The power comes from a Model A diamond block that has a Winfield SU1A cam, Original Winfield single carb intake with a Stromberg 97, Mallory Distributor, and exhaust comes out a customized header reminiscent of a 1936 Ford torque tube. A 6 volt PowerGen keeps the battery juiced. There are also aftermarket floating engine mounts installed. The engine is mated up to a T170 4-speed overdrive tranny that has been converted to work with the M odel A torque tube and enclosed driveshaft. The mmodel A rearend has been professionally rebuilt and features 3:78 gears. It has very nice Kelsey Hays bent spoke wheels with 5.00x16 dirt track style tires up front and older 7.50x16 Denman tires out back.
The body has a 1934 Ford pick-up dashboard cut and fit to the cowl which house a 1932 Ford speedometer and two curved glass Stewart-Warner gauges (oil and water temp). Gauges are not currently hooked up except for night lamp that lights them up. Repo banjo steering wheel mounted to a 1934 Ford steering box. The roadster body is very nice condition but not perfect. It has some rust thru on the cowl sides and the rear cab corners but not major issue. I like it the way it is. The bed has been used but just adds to the period look. There is some weld repair work on the rear cab corners that is pretty ugly but doesn't take away from the period correct build. I also have the two correct sheet metal pieces that fit between the bed and cab that go with the sell. It is built to be driven and enjoyed! I have the original Top Bows, cut down Model A emergency brake handle as well that go with the sell. I hate to sell this RPU because it is the exact RPU that I have always wanted but I have to fund a new project and to maintain my other Roadster I own.
I do have some extra parts I could work into the deal if it sells for what id like to get. I have 1932 front drums, spindles, spring perches, 34 front axle which will help lower the front a bit.
Clear Texas title in my name - Titled to the 1928 Model A chassis.
No warranty - Sold as where is.
Full payment must be received within 5 days after end of auction. Must contact me immediately upon end of auction to make pickup arrangements and payment arrangements.
