PLEASE NOTE: Your identity will be kept private for this auction.
You're bidding on a one-of-a-kind 1992 Ford Mustang LX with only 70,332 original miles! Only 352 of those miles are on the brand new engine and restoration!
A DART SHP Ford iron small block (3.40" stroke x 4.125" bore, 363ci/6.0L) has been installed. I've also kept the original 302 block, but it's NOT part of the sale. You can inspect it and/or purchase it separately if you desire, along with the engine stand.
This Mustang is naturally aspirated and rear wheel dyno'd@386HP/386TQ!!! That's about 450HP at the crank!!! I've brought this car over 100mph in a private setting, and the tuner went well over 100mph during testing. The engine and drive-line are solid.
The car is tuned and now requires 93 octane gasoline. EFI has been retained. (no carburetor conversion). The CAM is a performance tune and very will behaved for regular driving or for car shows. There's a nice smooth loping sound.
I never planned on selling the car, but here we are. I rarely drive the car; only once in a while to keep it fresh and lubricated. That's no kind of life for a car like this to be kept in a garage all of the time under cover. So, I hope it finds a good home. You will be hard pressed to find another 1992 Mustang in this kind of condition, especially one that has not been beat up and lovingly restored. I built this car to be powerful, yet understated. I get nothing but compliments when it has been taken out. People pull up wherever I go and want to chat or give a thumbs-up. It's not everyday you'll see a car like this on the road.
I just changed the oil and filter on May 8th, 2019 for the first time on the new engine. Comp-cams Engine Break-in additive with Zinc has been added once again. No contaminants/coolant have been found in the oil. The drain plugs did their job and collected any small metal burrs. I've kept the used oil and filter for the new owner to inspect before purchase. I also have photos of the drain plugs after the oil change and before cleaning off the metal burrs.
I bought this car in July of 2013. Take a look at the last 2 photos to compare how the car appeared in 2013 before I began my restoration project. Looked pretty good even when I bought it, didn't it? I paid $10,500 from an older gentleman in Wisconsin. Never saw snow once I took ownership. The frame and body are in superb condition. There was (and is) no frame or body damage or "twisting." This car has been well taken care of over it's lifetime. It has never been taken to the track and has never given me any problems. No rust. Never been in an accident and has a clean record.
The car had around 67,000 miles when I first purchased it. I drove the car on special occasions up until 2015. That's when I began restoring the car into what you see before you. Of course, I couldn't have done it without the help of the fine folks at Fordstrokers.com (Jim & Nicole Woods), Collision Connection Auto Body (Larry Baechler), DynoTuneMP.com (Mike Post). Nicole & Jim assisted with parts, recommendations, build pointers, & machine-work. Larry helped with body disassembly/reassembly & paintwork, and Mike helped with rear-end gearing, ignition, rear disc brake conversion, frame connectors, tuning, and final inspection/validation. I did the engine removal/build/installation, full suspension replacement, transmission, drive-line, front brakes, wheels, bearing re-pack, interior where necessary, and everything else in between.)
All but restored from the ground-up with most documentation of work completed. Fully re-primed and re-painted in its original factory red color. The paint and body work cost over $16,000+!!! The engine cost over $10,000+!!! Most everything else cost over $24,000+!!! That's over $50,000!!! That doesn't even include my labor or the cost of Interior upgrades!!! American Modern Insurance has appraised and insured this vehicle in 2018 for $50,000!!!
When you buy this car, you will get all of the documentation I have on hand, which includes parts, CAM-card, prices, instructions, engine-block specifications, and Bob-Weight card (I have about 95% of possible documentation). You also get the original Driver's manual and related in original Ford pouch, 2x original 5.0 badges which were removed, the front bumper cut-out that was replaced with the Cobra insert, original full-mast antenna, Mustang Neon garage clock, remaining Royal Purple 10w-30 oil for topping off (if necessary), Royal Purple power steering fluid, BBK air cleaner & oil kit, Haynes and Chilton's repair manuals, and 2 sets of keys.
There's a few minor issues to take note:
Here's a list of all work and upgrades (I'm sure I'll forget to list a few things... there is a lot to cover...and there's various bolts, clips, tape, hoses, harnesses, and so on that were replaced, but not listed below as well):

There's a few minor issues to take note:
- There's NO oil leaks anywhere except at the rear main seal. It leaked when I first bought it, and leaks now with the new engine. The tuner stated that he could replace the seal, but it's expensive and it will probably leak again in the future. The leak is tiny and won't require adding oil on even a remotely regular schedule. A DRIP PAN will be included in the sale to protect your flooring!!!
- During inspection yesterday (May 8th, I found that the passenger side window rocker switch works rolling down the window, but not rolling it up. You can use the driver side to bring the window back up. This is an easy fix and switches are available on LMR.com.
- There's a rock chip behind the rear passenger wheel on the lower quarter panel. Touch up paint is included.
- The shifting is notchy. This may be because the car has hardly been worked through the motions of driving, but I wanted you to be aware. After warm up, shifting is smoother.
Here's a list of all work and upgrades (I'm sure I'll forget to list a few things... there is a lot to cover...and there's various bolts, clips, tape, hoses, harnesses, and so on that were replaced, but not listed below as well):
