Car description

Unrestored very solid andquite complete1966 Mustang convertible - bid to buy - if you bid and there are no others - you get to buy the car at that price. Factory C code V-8 289 Engine andautomatic Transmission with factory Power Steering. This car came from Georgia to North Carolina and I have ownership history from 1977. It has all original floor pans and I can send a link to a youtube video showing the complete underside and the outside of the car and it running.

Original floor pan Mustangs are gettingrarer and rarerand are becoming more valuable ( this is a 51 year old unrestored Mustang that has been preserved and is a excellent car to do some work and drive as is or to restore.Buying this car will save you a lot of time as you will not need to spend hours and hours on searching for parts or weekswelding in panels.

I can not find any evidence of an auto accident and the fenders and doors and the hood and trunk are very straight. Has been repainted many years back and the paint is shiny but isfull of chips and scratches. You may be able to touch it up and wet sand it and polish to bring out the paint or repaint the car. Really straight panels with an almost rust free body and original pans. Real North Carolina and Georgia ownership is proved with this solid original car as well as the documentation that comes with the car.

The car decodes out as a blue car with blue standard interior and a 289 2 bbl engine. Has factory power steering and a manual white top. The top is usable and still looks good, but the rear window needs to be replaced as there is a hole in in about a foot long. I have it patched for transport for the new buyer. I am including a new plastic rear window with the car.

The VIN is stamped clearly in the inner fender and matches the buck tag and the door data tag as well as the Free and clear North Carolina title that is in my name only. All the panels match up nicely and the doors close correctly and all the windows go up and down smoothly. I replaced some of the nylon rollers.

Missing the rear convertible top well liner and the cardboard glove box liner. The heater box and motor and heater core are all new, but I have not got it turning on -new owner needs to diagnose why. Good dash pad and original interior that has some separations in the seams.

Recent work in the past two months includes:

Battery, carpet, door panels, new front brakes, drums turned, wheel cylinders, engine valve caps replaced, new valve cover gaskets, points, plugs, wires, coil, car has been aligned, left front ball joint replaced, brand new heater core and complete new hearerbox and heater motor.

The car was garaged as evidenced by the solid body and original interior.

The car runs and drives- it alsoshift correctly, but I am having a time getting it to run smooth. May need to replace the gas tank as I drained it when I got it a while backand replaced the fuel filter. It starts quicklyand runs smooth at first- you do hear a muffler leak and runs smooth for a while, but then it starts to sputter and you have to feather the gas at a stop. So I decided I would let the next owner figure that out. So bid knowing that you will need to diagnose and solve this issue, but you have a really nice original almost rust free body and frame to work with and I believe an original engine and transmission.

So it needs some mechanical love to figure it out and then you can enjoy a very solid convertible. Need to get this one now as you can see what the price of 1950's convertibles have done and Ipredict to see the same in the Mustangs in the next ten years. You should consider this car over any other unrestored 1965 or 1966 Mustang that has rust!

Feel free to call or text me and I can give you more information or provide you the link to the videos I have taken of the car. 252-916-4367 Larry in Washington NC 27889
