I have for auction a 1966 Ford Mustang convertible. This car is a true survivor. I am the first owner outside of the family. The original owner bought it from his brother who was a Ford salesman at the local Ford dealership. Then in 1967 the second owner bought it from his brother because his new bride could not drive a manual transmission. and he has owned it since 1967.It has been stored in a heated garage since the 80's. Neat story.Painted in the desirable Tahoe Turquoise. All of the paint is original as in the same paint that it left the Ford factory with except for a repair that was done on the lower part of the left fender. This car has never been repainted nor has it ever been in an accident. However, it does have a few scratches and nicks but is better than what you would expect on a 50 year old paint job. It still has a presentable shine to it. It is equipped with the original 289 2 barrel. It has the original four-speed transmission with the original four speed shifter. This car is extremely rare in that it is equipped with non-GT disc brakes. I don't have the number produced but I believe it is extremely rare. It retains the original master cylinder not some aftermarket one. The engine compartment was never detailed we Wanted to keep it as found representing as much as we can of the original car. The interior is in excellent condition it is all original including the carpets. Even the floor mats are original FoMoCo. The dash and steering wheel are in beautiful condition with no cracks. The power top is in great condition with some wear around the edges but we decided to keep that original and only install a new rear glass becuase it was a safety concern. The body on this car is in good shape it does have some rust around the rear quarters but I believe that it can be repaired with minimum work. The floors seem to be in very nice condition since the car wasn't exposed to weather over a long period of time. Torque boxes are solid. The left front fender would need to have a lower part sectioned in since it was a poor previous repair. Since it is the original fender with the paint stamping factory markings on it I would just section in a lower part off of an original fender. There is no need to replace the fender. The chrome on the car is original and as you would expect is marginal. This is a very nice car for summertime driving. It is serviced and ready to go. When was the last time you saw an all original paint 4 speed Mustang convertible? What you see is what you get. There is no warranty given or implied. Sold as is where is.buyer is responsible for shipping although I will help in anyway I can and loading the car. I will not end the auction early. If you have any questions please call me the car is titled in my name. 412-853-3980. Thanks for looking.
