Car description |
---|
I have a 66 fastback in my favorite color combo black with red interior with the factory GT package. I am currently restoring another car and won't be able to get to this one for awhile. The car retains most of its original color, the majority of its interior and still has its original engine and even the carburetor with the date correct ID tags still in place.
The 2nd owner I purchased the car from said he had stored the car in a garage for almost 20 years and that he believed the mileage to be true with only 86,000 original miles on it. The last registration on the windshield was in 1986. The front frame rails, shock tower, and engine bay is in very good condition. The car does need floor pan, quarters, trunk, and passenger rear frame rail work (the drivers side rear frame rail looks good).
The engine starts and idles well off a gas can but the transmission only goes into gear when it wants to. I have the car at a mustang shop where I was going to have the tranny taken out and rebuilt but they hadn't done that yet. The original door tag, apron stamp, buck tag and title all match up as well as the date/ ID tags that I have seen on the carb, intake and date code on the block. I don't think the engine has ever been out of this car.
The car still has the factory front disc brakes, the correct master cylinder and proportioning valve, fog light switch, and other options that let me know it is a True GT car from the factory. This is a really rare factory car that deserves to be restored. I do not want to try and discuss ever little detail about this car. Do not call or text me asking me "what's my lowest dollar". If you have a serious question please call me or if you are making a legitimate offer/ bid please contact me when bidding or I will assume you are just playing around and have no intentions of buying my car and I will cancel your bid.
