Car description

Washington State documents included in a thick binder! For marketing the Special Service Package (SSP) Mustang 5.0, Ford used the tag line, "This car chases Porsches for a living." Nimble handling characteristics and superior acceleration are well known for the SSP Mustangs. This is a real Special Service Package (SSP) Mustang 5.0L Pursuit Interceptor "Survivor Car" with 5-speed manual transmission. Unique 1988 SSP features included by Ford were the 5.0L High Output (HO) Sequential Electronic Fuel Injection (SEFI) engine (with hydraulic "roller cam" and "roller rocker arms"), Mustang GT suspension handling package, "Certified Calibration" speedometer, 135 amp alternator, dual "buck tags," blue dome light, etc., etc. This car has all the originality as described. Originally purchased at Government Services Administration (GSA) auction after Washing State Patrol service duty, I was the 2nd owner - 1st owner was Washington State. SSP's were known to have been purchased for purposes of performance driving such as SPorts Car Club of America (SCCA) racing, drag racing, "drifting" events and "autocrossing." This car has never participated in any performance events such as those and always has mainly been used for highway driving. I met the Washington State Patrol Trooper and saw the car in person before the Trooper had to turn the car back to the State just before GSA auction. The care the Trooper had taken of this car was the reason I combed GSA auctions looking for this particular car (also, he described to me that he was looking for a good home for the car - he told me he figured I was that guy to provide that good home). The car is something I hate to part with, but I am downsizing my inventory of cars. Local pick up only. Good luck bidding on this gem!
