Car description |

This 1982 Fiat 2000 Spider has been well taken care of during its life. The previous owner had it for 15 years until he recently passed away. He kept it in the garage along with a Lancia Beta and I purchased both, one has to go. The car has been well maintained while he owned it and drove it from time to time. This is not a car that's been sitting around for many years. It is in great mechanical shape with absolutely no leaks. The water pump looks to be new as well as the valve cover gaskets. The oil has been recently changed. Underneath the car has new control arms, new bushings, new brake lines and the suspension looks and feels solid. These were done by the previous owner. The car runs and drives as it should, no play in the steering, no rattles or any noises. It cruises effortlessly on the highway and is great to drive around town, it gets a lot of thumbs up. The motor starts up even after I didn't have it running for a week and does not smoke on startup! The car retains its catalytic converter and has a new catback exhaust that was installed last year. The transmission is a 3-speed automatic, from the research I've been doing it turns out to be made by GM. It shifts perfectly with no hesitation whatsoever. I've been cruising in the car for the past couple of weeks and the temperature stayed at 190 all day.
The exterior of the car looks great. The car has had a repaint that looks to be a few years old, it has a nice shine and looks perfect from a few feet away. There are a few small scratches that are visible only from up close. I'd say that the paint is an 8/10. There are absolutely no dings or dents anywhere on the car, it is straight as an arrow. There is 0 rust on the car! The engine bay still retains its original paint with the stickers intact. I have added new emblems all around, the ones on the hood, sides, trunk and next to the tailight. I also added a new set of Abarth Competizione 15" rims with brand new Hankook tires, they have about 100 miles on them and are flawless. The original 13" wheels are included and have Pirelli tires on them that look like new. There are 2 scratches from the wiper on the right side of the windshield and a small rock chip. It doesn't affect visibility but wanted to mention it.
The interior of the car is in a very presentable state. The seats look great but the floormats and carpet are showing their age. The dash has a couple of cracks in it. The previous owner installed speakers on the door panels. The car has 4 speakers, 2 in the front and 2 in the back and are powered by an amp and a JVC head unit. They sound really good especially considering their small size. All the electricals work as they should, wipers, lights, signals, speedometer, tach and temperature guage. The clock is not working, probably needs to be rewired. The convertible top is lowered and raised with ease. It is new, installed last year, with minimal signs of use. The plastic window in the back is clear and doesn't have any scratches. The windows go up and down effortlessly, I was actually surprised bow easy they are to operate. The car is equipped with the Fiat A/C but it is currently not working. The unit is there but has a missing button and a missing vent. I cruise in the car with the top down and didn't try to fix it. I have a clear title in hand. The car is ready to be driven anywhere. I'm in the NYC area, test drives are welcomed.
