Car description

Mopar people know the significance of the 1974 Dodge Challenger. It was the final year for these first-generation muscle cars, and its model year was even cut short, making it the rarest of the E-bodies. But just in case you weren't already tempted by rarity, you'll be drawn in by all the desirable options, R/T tribute appearance, and extra performance under the hood. The Challenger's shape is one of the most popular muscle car profiles in history, but there's something... on this one that makes it look exceptionally nice. The factory A57 Rallye Package that gives you the hood scoops, blacked-out grille, and faux fender vents. It's part of a rare options offered for a few years, so Mopar people love to see it. Plus, This has plenty of R/T-like style with the matte black paint on the hood, hood pins, and full-length stripes. The factory-correct black vinyl roof matches this accent package and adds a premium touch. It's all finished off in the factory-correct FE5 Bright Red paint for history and distinction. We also love it when the exterior accent color is a preview of the interior color. The moment you slip into the high-back black bucket seat, it feels like 1974 all over again. You've plenty of premium wood appearance trim, including the iconic pistol-grip gearshift sitting boldly in the middle. The Rallye Package comes through again with a full set of gauges, including the big tachometer in the center. In fact, even the period-correct details are great - from the working clock to the factory AM/FM radio. This car was born in the lower compression era. And while the original 318 motor was a great way to keep the muscle car dream alive, the '69 340ci block that's now under the hood let's this coupe really live up to its potential. As you look in the engine bay, you can instantly see that there has been a solid investment in this muscle car motor. It's a tidy setup with newer belts and hoses. And the Mopar Performance air topper and valve covers show that this has been well maintained and upgraded. Plus, the four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock intake let this V8 inhale with the kind of power you demand. It exhales with authority out of an IMCO performance X-pipe dual exhaust. Best of all, you have complete control over the power and its thunderous soundtrack thanks to the four-speed manual transmission. Out on the streets the thick front sway bar, wide BF Goodrich T/As, and front disc brakes keep you in firm control. There were less than 11,400 Challengers built in 1974 - and far fewer with the actual Rallye package. This was a well-optioned car when new, and it has kept the best of those elements intact. And the upgrades it has are the ones that will make you love driving it the long way home. So don't miss out on this classic Challenger. Call now!
