1981 DeLorean DMC-12 rare black and gold painted. All fluids up to date. Power comes from a 2.85-liter PRV V6 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. The rear-mounted 2.85-liter V6 has received new oil and coolant within the past 1000 miles and runs well. The 3-speed automatic transmission shifts well through all gears. The almost new new set of tires on the 14″ diameter front and 15″ rear cast alloy wheels. The brakes and suspension are very good. All gauges and electrial parts work.
Thw vin plate shows SCFDT26TXBD001227. For some reason ebay does not accpet it.
The doors lift up and close down properly. The glass is intact and in great condition. The black and grey interior remains stock, and in good shape for age (driver seat more worn that passenger seat. The A/C compressor is disconnected. The original radio has also been removed.
The car is finished in a custom two-tone black and gold finish, which was reportedly applied by the selling dealer at the original owner's request.Brooks Biddle Chevrolet was reportedly offering in-house DeLorean painting when the cars were new in an effort to move leftover inventory. The gold and black scheme was reportedly chosen by the first owner, who was an avid Nascar fan and inspired Smokey Yunick's race cars. The paint is currently in nice shape for its age.An original spare tire, jack, and toolkit remain with the car. No rust on the floors and chassis. No accidents, clean title.
