For sale 1957 Chevrolet 4 door sedan One-Fifty model. The car was stored in the previous owner's barn for over 16 years until it was brought out into the light to begin a new motoring chapter in its life. The vehicle has the unique distinction, according to the vehicle I.D. Tag on the firewall, of being manufactured in the Chevrolet's plant in Baltimore, Maryland Plant as a TAXI !! The black and white color scheme, as indicated on the Vehicle I.D. Tag, was apparently the colors of choice for the Cab Company placing the order. The doors open and close with the kind of quality that gives you confidence on how well this Taxi was maintained, as well as. the solid floor and trunk pans in the pictures. The car is equipped with the always reliable Chevrolet Blue Flame 235 Cu. in. inline 6- cylinder with an automatic powerglide transmission. The interior of the 150 model was simple in 1957 having rubber floor mats and cloth and vinyl seat covers. This car has been upgraded to the 210 model interior with charcoal and ivory color scheme and gray carpet throughout supplied from another 1957 all original donor car. New brake hoses, wheel cylinders, brake shoes and drums have been installed on the front drum brakes...Original master cylinder was cleaned and a new kit installed rounding out the sure-stopping drum brake system. The radiator has been cleaned and flushed and tested with new hoses. Carburetor has been cleaned and new kit installed. A new fuel tank was installed by the previous owner but not sure if new sending unit was also installed. The fuel tank was drained and fresh fuel added for good performance. Additionally, a one wire alternator has been installed to insure smooth charging of the battery. The original generator and voltage regulator are in the trunk if a true original build is your preference. As with cars of this age (63 years old) some things work and others don't. The speedometer is working and the odometer as well. The odometer shows 65939 but there is no way to confirm the accuracy of this number. The heater hoses have been routed around the heater core leading to the assumption that it must have a leak. The windshield wiper motor seem to be inoperable but it could be wiring to it or internal grease hardening. The gas gauge works but does not seem to be accurate. Aftermarket oil amps and temp gauges seem to be working. New tires have been installed on all four corners, as well as, a new spare for a trouble free driving experience. Just turn the key and it starts right up, you don't even have to pump the accelerator. Its hard not to get drawn into an interesting vehicle like this. Just imagine how many interesting and famous people that may have taken a ride in this unique taxi from bygone era. Bet it could tell some stories. Thanks for looking. rudy
