Car description

For sale- my project 1986 Century GS. I bought this as a running car, though barely. Car was used as daily driver by previous owner.

Insanely rare- when did you last see a 1986 Century, much less a coupe, much less a GS? And with NO RUST! From Colorado, no less!

One of only 1029 cars built, all black with gray interiors, but different in other options.

I have one full build sheet (back of backseat) and half of another(?) proving this is a genuine Y41 Gran Sport car.

All original metal (as far I can tell), no accident damage.

Minor dents and dings. Car has repainted at least once, and REALLY needs it again!

Air conditioning works, but has no charge.

Heat works great, has a fairly recent core replacement, if the amount of coolant found in the carpet is any indication.

I have embarked on a total rejuvenation, the goal to make a very nice, showable, reliable driver. I have no intention of a full, concours-grade restoration. This car is too much fun! I will list the work done below:

- New plugs and wires

- New coil pack

- Oil change forcleaningwith Castrol GTX and correct AC Delco PF47E filter

- Oil change to Royal Purple full-synthetic with AC Delco PF47E filter

- New fuel filter

- Reman alternator

- New tensioner pulley and bracket

- New serpentine belt

- New shocks, struts and front springs (originals were replaced long before my ownership)

- New Walker cat-back factory exhaust (sounds great!)

- New AC Delco 75PS battery

- Lifetime alignment

- Brake lines flushed

- Transaxle flushed

- Cooling system flushed, fresh Prestone 50/50 green coolant

- New thermostat

- All new locks

- New weatherstripping- doors and trunk

- All new instrument cluster bulbs

- Carpet cleaned, re-dyed

- Center console re-built and re-finished

- Shifter rebuilt

- Shift lever/boot re-wrapped

- Steering wheel rim rebuilt, re-wrapped using factory patterns

- New black headliner

- Sunvisors re-covered to match headliner

- Replace hood insulation (missing, no logos on replacement)

- All windows re-tinted to 20% (5-year warranty if you're local)

- New windshield (Safelite)

- New wiper blades

- Re-finish of cowl and back window filler panels

- Re-finish of front grille and headlight trim

- Re-finish of taillights

- Window trim restored.

- Rear spoiler remounted (stripping of multiple layers of adhesive from prior attempts)

- Re-finished Bonneville 16x7 wheels and Uniroyal Tiger Paw P225/50ZR16 tires

- Custom "GS" logo center caps for wheels

I'm sure I'm forgetting a bunch of stuff. Car is now totally reliable, weatherproof driver. When I bought the car, THE POWER ANTENNA WORKED! But without a radio currently hooked up, I cannot promise. Extra parts included are:

- ORIGINAL 15" GS WHEELS AND CAPS These are unobtanium, and I like the 16's better. They give a GNX vibe to the car.

- Extra three-piece rear spoiler. Also unobtanium.

- Extra nose badge (slight damage), steering wheel badge and glovebox badge. So much unobtanium.

- Two (2) period-correct UM6 radios, one with Century mounting brackets and pigtails

- Front license bracket (a little ragged from 30 years in Colorado)

- New transaxle modulator valve (thought that was my leak. It wasn't)

There's probably more- I'll add it when I think of it. Since the mechanical rebuilding, I've driven this 'beauty' all over, although not more than 50 miles at a stretch. Comfortable, FAST, reliable, quiet, easy. Well, a Buick!

I don't want to get rid of it, especially since it still needs paint. I hate to let go of an unfinished car, but conditions (financial and otherwise) dictate.

You will have to arrange your own shipping, although I am happy to do what I can to help.

Now for the payment rules-

$500 deposit via Paypal due within 48 hours of end auction.

Payment in full within seven (7) days of end of auction, NO Paypal, cashier's check or cash in person ONLY!

Car must be off property within 30 days of end of auction.

Any other arrangementsmust be agreed to before end of auction

IF YOU CANNOT PAY, DO NOT BID!

Sorry about that, but the last two cars I sold here were sold two and four times each, respectively, before anyone would pay any money. Ebay is not a game!

As always, please contact me with ANY questions at all about this once-in-a-lifetime deal!

Per request, I have added two photos of the engine bay. I also need to note that the ignition lock assembly has also been replaced. So all new keys to all new everything that takes keys.
