Auction is for my 1960 Austin Healey Sprite. I've owned this car for nearly28 years. First purchased in 1987 in the Midwest as I had graduated from the universitya year or two before and had my first "real" job.At that time Ialways wanted a sports car andan Austin Healey Bugeye was just perfect for me! I drove it a lot back then nearly everywhere, nd finally succumbed tostarting the restoration after 2 years of driving it. I restored it myself over a period ofa coupleyears, including professionally replacing the sagging rear spring boxes with new Moss Motors reproduction items, including floor pans and new springs and all new sheet metal. So there is no structural rust in the chassis. I then moved out west to co-found a business and my life became too busy for it. so stored it it in the Midwest during this time. Finally bringing it out here about 10 years ago. Then in 2007 the 1275 cc engine was tired and needed a rebuild, o opted to restore it again. Engine came out, ar stripped to baremetal and repainted. Including engine bay, ar interior and exterior.I enclose some pictures of the restoration at that time. Inow use this sprite often in the summer months along with some of my other Britishsportscars and it runs and drives well. Like all British cars it leaks engine oil and no matter how well I try to stop it even with a new engine build the front and rear seals still drip. I installed a hotnearly full race 948 cc engine 3 years ago and it's fitted with a ribcase transmission as the smooth case wouldn't work with the upgraded flywheel and clutch. Engine is making around 60-65 hp, which for a 948is quite good. This car is a driver and paint is in good condition but not perfect. it has couple blemishes here and there in the paint so is a driver not a concurs car. Interioris still from the first restoration in 1989, o is a little worn butstill looks good. Car has a fiberglass front bonnet fitted to save weight but I have the originalsteelbonnet that can be put back on if desired. That bonnet will need to be stripped, and painted to match. The top bows, xtra bonnet a smooth case transmission, ide curtains and top all go with the car if it's sold. So a sale in the Pacific Northwest is preferred unless you can know of a way to ship the parts with the car. I also have many other spares including a 1275 cc engine I removed from it in 2007. Equipment: 948cc recently built engine, 0-65 hp, ess than 1000 miles since installation4 speed manual"ribcase" transmission w/new clutch. I had to use the ribcase as the smooth case transmission wouldn't work with the upgraded clutch.Front disc brakes off early sprite with wire wheels (stops very well much better than the stock drum brakes)Complete new car wiring harnessElectric fuel pumpNew aluminum radiator with Electric cooling fan ( I have original brass radiator too) Windscreenis from a 1958 Sprite as I liked the full width snaps on the upper frame which gives a very classic 1950's roadster look.I also have the original windscreen that came with the carAuction has a RESERVE. I have set a reasonable reserve for thiscar. Bidding starts at $2500. Shipping is responsibility of the buyer and I'll work with them to arrange transport if needed. Since the car comes with spares a local Pacific Northwest sale maybe most reasonable unless buyer has a way to transport some large heavy items like the extra Bonnet, ransmission and other parts.Deposit of $500 to hold car at auction end for the winning bidder by PayPal. Remainder due by cashiers check or cashin 10 days. I reserve the right to remove any bidders with any negative feedback at all. Also if you have less than 10 good feedbacks please email me before you bid. Feel free to email me about any questions you might have. I've been on eBay for 12+ years and have a near perfect track record for both selling and buying. Buy with confidence from a30+ yearBritish car enthusiast. Thanks for looking and Good luck!
