Fantastic little summer cruiser here. This 1989 Alfa Romeo Spider was brought over (by me) from LA California just over four years ago. It has never seen a Minnesota winter, nd besides the freak snowstorm we encountered in Colorado on the way home from California, t has probably never seen snow either. In the four years I've owned this little car, t has received all necessary routine maintenance, ncluding recent new spark plugs and tires. It has always started, an, nd driven all summer with no issues, ther than a sticky brake caliper that was replaced earlier this year. Being from California, he body and underbody on this Spider is in very nice shape. No rust like midwest models. Underbody is similarly clean. The paint has some spots of sun fading that is noticeable upon close inspection, ut it doesn't stand out too badly since it is a white vehicle. It is largely dent and scratch free, hough there are a few minor dings here and there. The top is newer and operates well, owever the rear plastic window is in poor shape and should be replaced. The interior of the vehicle is in very nice shape. The seats are in like new condition, s is the black carpet. The dash and console has some cracking and warping, s would be common with a car from a climate like Southern California. The majority of the gauges and instruments workintermittently(the gas always works, uckily). The speedometer does not function. The heater works well, he AC is not hooked up, nd I would assume it does not work. The stereo works well and has a functioning CD player. The speakers in the rear work well, ut are cheaper aftermarket units. The door panel speakers seem to work fine as well. All exterior lights and signals appear to function. This car is fuel injected and starts right up easily. The engine sputters at idle when cold, ut idles well after being warmed up for a few minutes. I'm told that a cold idle valve would likely solve the issue. It runs well and gets up to speed and through all five gears easily, hough it has the typical delicate 1-2 and 2-3 shift that requires a bit ofpracticenot to grind at first. The car handles and steers smoothly and tightly. It is very much a pleasure to drive, specially with the top down. Over 70 miles per hour, here is an exhaust vibration that makes a bit of noise. Under 70 it is not an issue. Despite the higher miles, he engine still has plenty of power. However, t may ping a bit under load now and then. In my time with it, have averaged about 30 MPG as well. I add about one quart of oil between changes, t seems to be seeping through the valve cover gasket area. The coolant may have a small leak as well, s there is a bit of corrosion visible at the top of the radiator. All in all, his is a very enjoyable summer toy for the right person who doesn't mind the quirks that come along with an older Alfa. The interior and exterior are very nice and it really is fun to drive. As I have been the only driver of this car for four years now, 'm very familiar with it and happy to answer any questions you may have - please do not hesitate to ask. I'm also very happy to arrange shipping anywhere in the US, nd can get a discounted rate as a licensed dealer. Thanks and happy bidding!
