For your consideration, a super rare 1945 WILLYS mb-nb usmc radio jeep. Similar to mz2 series, but only a couple known to exist. From last contract that was for 120 or so units.Has some important and rare parts on it such as: lifting loops, rams horn hooks, usmc numbers on hood, pto, cast bracket, original engine and transmission, dyneto wiper, combat wheels,..etcOriginally had early factory waterproofing on it. Now most of that is gone, besides the horn and transmission that has some unique venting and sealing modifications.
Will need body rust repair especially in floors. An easier route would be to find a nice 45' mb tub and use the original as a template for all the unique modifications....the original body has all the original mounting holes for the generator and radio gear. It also has custom brackets that would need to be preserved.
Running gear is in pretty good shape with no frozen or rusted up components. Axles are freely moving with little play. Transmission Turns free..shifts fine. Pto is nice and feels to be in good shape. Rare arm is there, just pulley is off. I do have the pulley.Engine has not been tested out as the head was off, but I see no major damage in the cylinders. No visible cracks, should rebuild fine.
*** Here is your chance to restore one of the rarest usmc radio jeeps ever found...Great candidate for museum quality restoration. Sourcing all the original radio and related equipment will be a real challenge, but ultimately rewarding.
Hood number is usmc 120421, engine is correct mb-629841. Original body number 258700. ***All numbers confirmed original to this vehicle by known jeep authorities....Unfortunately data tags are gone.
Sold as is, please email questions. Thanks
