MOST OF YOUR QUESTIONS WILL BE ABLE TO BE ANSWERED BY VIEWING ALL THE PICTURES AND READING THE DESCRIPTION. I HAVE TRIED TO DESCRIBE EVERYTHING AS HONESTLY AS I CAN.I PURCHASED THIS JEEP ABOUT 10 YEARS AGO FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNERS SON. THE 24,000 MILES HE SAID IS ORIGINAL, OWEVER I DO NOT HAVE ANY WAY TO VERIFY THAT. I WAS TOLD HE BOUGHT IT NEW. THE GUY WAS A WELDER BY TRADE AND DID WELDING ON THE SIDE. THERE HAD BEEN A WELDER INSTALLED IN THE BACK OF THE JEEP AND IT RAN OFF THE PTO UNIT. THE TOOL BOX UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT WAS REMOVED, HOLE WAS CUT IN THE FLOOR TO RUN THE THREE BELTS, UT ALL THAT STUFF WAS LONG GONE BEFORE I GOT IT.THIS JEEP SAT FOR MANY YEARS WITHOUT BEING RUN AND IT WAS NEVER RUN THE TIME I HAD IT EITHER. IT WAS ORIGINALLY PASTURE GREEN IN COLOR WITH THE YELLOW WHEELS ; THEN IT HAD BEEN PARTIALLY PAINTED RED. THIS IS THE EARLY 1946 AS IT HAS THE AXE SHOVEL INDENTATIONS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, ND IT WAS ALSO ORIGINALLY A COLUMN SHIFT--BUT IT NOW HAS A 3-SPEED ON THE FLOOR.HERE IS A LIST OF WHAT I HAVE DONE TO THIS JEEP SO FAR:THE RIMS HAVE BEEN SANDBLASTED --- 4 NEW TIRES AND TUBES 600" X 16" (SPARE IS USED)---I JUST DID THE BRAKES (I.E.--NEW MASTER CYLINDER, NEW WHEEL CYLINDERS, EW SHOES, REPAIRED SOME LINES AND NEW HOSES)---I INSTALLED A NEW GAS TANK WITH NEW LINES---NEW WINDSHIELD GLASS AND RUBBER SEAL---THE RIGHT REAR SPRING HAD THREE EXTRA LEAFS ADDED DUE TO THE HEAVINESS OF THE WELDER. I REMOVED THOSE LEAFS TO MAKE IT LEVEL AGAIN---THERE IS A NEWER 6-VOLT BATTERY INSTALLED---SEATS HAVE BEEN REDONE WITH NEW CUSHIONS IN BLACK---I ALSO CHANGED OUT ONE OF THE STEERING ARMS BECAUSE IT WAS BENT.I GOT THE MOTOR RUNNING, UT I FOUND A CRACK IN THE CYLINDER HEAD WHERE THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE FITTING GOES ---THE FITTING WAS FOUND TO BE CROSS THREADE, O I REPLACED THE CYLINDER HEAD AND I HAD TO REPAIR ONE HEAD BOLT STUD AS WELL. I PUT A NEW ACCELERATOR PUMP IN THE CARBURETOR BECAUSE IT WAS DRIED OUT. IT SEEMS TO RUN FAIR; BUT APPEARS TO LOAD UP LIKE THE CHOKE IS STILL ON.MOST LIKELY IT WILL NEED A COMPLETE OVERHAUL. I TOPPED OFF ALL THE FLUID LEVELS, UT OF COURSE THERE ARE SOME MORE LEAKS--REMEMBER THE AGE OF THIS VEHICLE.THE HEADLAMPS WORK; BUT SOMETIMES YOU MAY HAVE TO MOVE THE SWITCH IN AND OUT A FEW TIMES TO GET THEM TO COME ON. THE BRAKE LAMP WORKS. SOMETIMES THE STARTER MAKES A GRINDING NOISE; BUT IT ONLY HAPPENED A FEW TIMES.THE PAINT JOB ON IT IS FAIR. THERE IS VIRTUALLY NO BODY PUDDY IN THE VEHICLE; WHAT YOU SEE IS ALL SOLID.THERE ARE SOME PICTURES OF THE HAT CHANNELS RIGHT WHERE THE STEP IS--THEY COULD USE A LITTLE WORK. I HAVE ADDED THE CANVAS 1/2 CAB THAT IS ORIGINAL, HICH ALSO INCLUDES ALL THE ORIGINAL BOWS AND BRACKETS. I DO NOT HOWEVER HAVE THE DOORS FOR IT. I HAVE HAD THIS CAB ON A DIFFERENT JEEP THAT I USED; ITS NICE TO KEEP THE SUN OFF WHILE DRIVING. I ALSO ADDED THE SIDE STEPS AND THE ORIGINAL LICENSE PLATE BRACKET.THE JEEP HAS DINGS, ENTS, ND SCRATCHES; BUT IS STILL VERY SOLID. I BELIEVE THAT THIS WOULD BE AN EXCELLENT CANDIDATE FOR A RESTORATION PROJECT, R WITH A LITTLE "TLC" THIS COULD BE A GOOD DRIVER. I HAVE TAKEN IT AS FAR AS I AM GOING TO GO WITH IT. ALL THE PARTS THAT I HAVE INSTALLED WERE ORIGINAL. NOTHING HAS BEEN UNDERCOATED OR RHINO LINED TO HIDE ANYTHING.OBVIOUSLY WITH A VEHICLE OF THIS AGE, HERE WOULD BE NO WARRANTY. THIS IS BEING SOLD AS IS--NO WARRANTY IMPLIED OR EXPRESSED.
