1989 Volvo Turbo Wagon w/Intercooler

About 2005 I purchased a 1989 Volvo 740 Turbo Wagon. It was our family car for many years and we have many fond memories. While my oldest daughter was driving the car, during her high school years, the Volvo suddenly became unreliable – something amiss with the ignition system when it came up to operating temperature. Either the distributor, the pickup coil or a connection is intermittent. Sometimes it starts and runs great, while other times it won't start.

I put it in the garage, hoping that I would have time to figure out what was wrong with and get it going again. The years have passed and I just never got around to getting back to it. Now, that I am now sixty I am running out of time. Preparing for grandchildren and retirement, I have decided to sell it.

As you can see from the posted photos, the paint has oxidized – but nothing wax and a little “elbow grease” can’t fix. The body is rust free. When I put it in storage, the engine ran, the turbo worked, and the transmission shifted just fine. However, the driveshaft carrier bearing needs to be replaced and the rear lift-gate window was shattered one day when it was hit with a rock. I have the title in my name, but it is not up to date.
