Up for sale is my beloved 1984 Volvo 240 turbo. It’s the usual story of why I need to let it go. Loved Swedish bricks since high school. Had this exact model when in undergrad and had to let it go when I went to grad school. Stumbled upon this one several years ago and had to get it. I don’t have the time to get it back to where it needs and should be. I’ve come to terms with this and need a new owner to give it the love and attention it deserves. This spent most of its life in California. The previous owner did all, I mean all maintenance religiously. I have his binder of all the recorded maintenance. (See last pic). It’s all factory. The only modifications I made, which can easily be removed, are the Dave Barton prancing moose instrument stickers on the gauges (see pics) and his adjustable voltage regulator for the alternator. For those of you that haven’t heard of Dave Barton, he’s a legend in the Volvo community. I also replaced the exhaust to a magnaflow downpipe and new Volvo OEM exhaust gaskets. Now for the “bad”. First, it goes without saying if you are looking at this add you know parts are available and reasonably accessible and you are mostly likely aware of the “normal” issues that happen in time with a 34 year old Volvo 240. With that being said, the items that need some extra care.A deer ran into me. Seriously. (Damage, second to last pic). On the right front corner of the fender by the headlamps. The headlamps needs the bucket assembly with springs to properly seat and adjust headlights. And a crisp blinker cover would help. I do have a replacement “coffin” style hood and fender. Once again, never having the time to properly fix. The seats are tearing. The overdrive is temperamental. And it needs brakes and bushings. Other than that. No leaks, solid and everything works as it should. Please feel free to ask questions if you would like to know specifics. I know this is a pretty large community of Volvo enthusiasts and you know what you are looking at here. Good luck!Buyer will be responsible for pick up or shipping, Iwill help in anyway possible.
