Car description |
---|
Here's a very early Volvo 1800 ES from 1972. The ES wagon was produced only 2 years, '72 and '73. Production for the '72s began in September of 1971. This car was built in October of 1971, and it the the 248th ES wagon produced, of a total of about 8000 units.
The VIN number of the car is: 1836353-000248. This number decodes as follows...
*183.......ES Series Wagon*6...........B20 F engine, FI. NOTE, engine may not be original. FI has been removed.*3...........Export model*5...........M41 transmission, 4-speed w/overdrive*3...........Left hand drive
*000248 = the 248th ES unit built.
Paint code is Light Blue Metallic. Interior code indicates Black Leather seats and Black Vinyl, Blue Carpet.
The car will start and run, but should probably have an engine rebuild. The engine has been converted to a dual-carbureted system, and all fuel injection parts have been removed. It's possible that this engine is not original to this car, I'm not sure.
The underside of the car looks very decent, but there are floor pan repairs on the front floor pans, and the battery box. There are also repaired areas where there was rust. The front brakes were disabled in order to get the car to roll...SO, the car has no functioning brakes.
This car is an ideal candidate for restoration. European buyers are welcome, I can assist in transport to Miami or New Jersey for transport to Europe. Clean Florida Title.
