For Sale - 1968 Volvo 1800s - Original Color Code 46 (Red) + OverdriveVin #26705 - Great Driver - Very Solid Car.
Originally sold from Ravenna Volvo in 1968, this Volvo 1800s was previously owned by a doctor located just east of Seattle for the last 14 years. This 1800s has excellent compression (see photo) all between 167-175psi per cylinder and runs and drives well, including a very nice functioning overdrive. This 1800s has a very rust free body and is very mechanically sound.
The engine in this 1800s is a B20e from a later model fuel injected version, it pulls very strong and doesn't leak, compression readings show a very tight motor. It shifts smoothy through all 5 gears and has excellent acceleration. The engine bay shows well, very well maintained.
The body on this 1800s is very straight and rust free. The only sign of rust is a small 2" area in the battery box floor. All the original body seams are in place and the rockers are very solid with no signs of corrosion. The undercarriage shows no corrosion and all 4 stock jacking points are in place. The floors, cross members and frame show no signs of corrosion and are all original. The paint is probably 15-17 years old, it's not going to win any car shows but does look OK from about 10 feet, in most areas the paint has very small air bubbles that show the age of the repaint. There is a small ding in the rear by the letter "L" on the back with small cracking in the paint, also a small ding on the rear right fin. With a newer paint job this car will probably place well at any local car show.
The brightwork on this car is very nice, the front chrome surround is in perfect shape and the side trim chrome on the car only shows a few minor dings. The stock bumpers and rubber guards look to be in great shape, straight as an arrow.
The interior is mostly original except for the seats, which are out of a later model. The radio isn't functional along with the clock but all the instruments light up nicely and function well. The wipers work occasional, I'm still working to troubleshoot that. The speedo and tach work ok, they tend to bounce around at higher RPM's and speed. The headliner and seats are in good shape, the original red carpet does show a little age. The fan blows warm and the blinkers, emergencies and lights work as they should.
This is a nice surviving example, with a nice paint job this car could be a stunner. Please let me know any questions and I would be happy to answer them. This car comes with an original manual and some period correct books from the previous owner. It's currently registered with Classic Plates in WA State.
