Car description |
---|
This car has zero rust as it was a west coast car its whole life until last summer and we did not drive it during the winter so it hasn't seen any salt, you can tell by the pics of the under-carriage as it is clean and crisp with no rust whatsoever. It has had lots of tasteful upgrades that have only improved performance and reliability without being obnoxious. The exhaust is quiet and does not drone. Just add a set of coil-overs and possibly a manual trans (if you are into that sort of thing) and you have a great, cheap enthusiasts car. As it is, it performs great as far as I'm concerned but I'm lazy and like my auto :). If you don't recognize the parts listed then I suggest you google the names IPD, Kalphenke, KGTrimming, Gates and Isky. Only the best parts available have been used to upgrade this car.
I Bought this car last spring from a guy in Tacoma Washington that did all the work to it. My wife and I then drove it across the country to Pennsylvania. We have taken it on a couple trips up to Maine and a few spots close to us but haven't really been driving it much the last few months so it has to go. I wouldn't hesitate to drive this back across the country, it runs and drives great. The odometer is over 300k but you can see the car is in great shape and nearly everything has been replaced as well as the whole top end of the motor being rebuilt as well as the transmission.
The Good: Well thought out engine build and recently rebuilt AW70 transmission, a couple good aftermarket suspension parts; ZERO rust (rare on this coast); only one small dent (above drivers A pillar on roof, baseball sized); Newer tires; Runs great.
The Bad: Clear coat is starting to peel on front fenders and a little on the hood; Drivers seat is ripped pretty good and dash is cracked up; A/C is non-op (has a broken hard line going into the top of the pump). Not much else.
Engine stuff: All of this was done about 18 months ago
1992 530 head decked 40 thousandths, New seats/seals, 46/38 valves, Isky double valve springs, 'T' cam, IPD adjustable cam gear, New cam seals.
KG trimming 4-2-1 header
2.5 inch header back exhaust
Gates kevlar timing belt, new tensioner, new water pump, new thermostat
FCP silicone hoses
New fuel pumps/filters
Yellow top injectors
Volvo Blackstone radiator
New Bosch starter
Suspension stuff:
Kalphenke strut tower brace
23mm front / 19mm rear sway bars with IPD poly bushings
IPD skid plate
Hydras with 215/55's with lots of life left
Misc:
Dog gate
Black handles/trim- some has been sprayed with undercoating and it's flaking a little
Curt hitch
CD player- stock speakers though
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask, I can answer anything or provide pictures of anything.
I can assist with shipping the car to any location in the States at the buyers expense. I've bought two and shipped one car in the last year so it's not new to me. Local pickup is preferred of course and I can pick you up at a local airport or even deliver not too far away for the cost of my travel.
