Car description

Year/Make/Model:1976 Volvo 245DL station wagon, 4cyl gas powered (notturbocharged), w roof-top carrierVehicle ID #:VC24545E1-080154Color:royal blue (repainted at least twice)Transmission:manual (stick-shift) (clutch replaced once about 20 years ago)Accessories (included):•4 lightly used snow tires on rims (2 studded).•Thule bicycle carrier for 2 bicycles; 2 trailer hitch balls included.•"RustBuster" cathodic protection to inhibit body rust (see owners manual, included).• roof-top enclosed cargo container.• Panasonic radio and CD player (replaced original cassette tape deck).Mileage:296,506 miles (represents the sum of the mileages on the old and new odometer, both in car).[installation of aftermarket cruisecontrol required replacement of the odometer]MPG:28 mpg highway: 16 mpg city.
Current Condition:The subject vehicle is currently in good operating condition. It does not exhibit any problems that would hinder reasonable use indefinitely into the future. The transmission and clutch work well, but wear on the gears results inoccasional minor difficulty engaging first gear or reverse when car is at rest. The front and rear seat upholstery are in good condition, having been replaced about ten years ago. The front seat belts are in good working condition; the rear seat belts are operational, but in only fair condition. The original fabric covering the cargo area is torn and has been partially replaced by aplasticchair pad. The following is a list of relatively minor issues:• Inconsequential body rust by the driver's side windshield trim and at the base of the deck lid. ["RustBuster" has been highly effective, but not uniformly so]• Passenger's side front door: chrome trim, missing and some paint, partially pealed.• Windshield defroster action: relatively ineffective, but blower is operational.• Windshield wipers: operational, on both low and high speed, but not as effective as could be wished.• Cruise-control (aftermarket, installed), no longer operational.• Hubcaps (4), included, but clips on rims no longer reliably hold them.
Ownership History:The subject vehicle is a 2-owner car, having been purchased by the present owners in 1984 from a Metro area dealer. Previously owned by an older Boulder couple, it then showed approximately 65,000 miles of use. Over the more than 30 years we have owned the wagon, it has proved itself very reliable and serviceable, which is the reason we have owned it so long. During that period it traversed the country, west-east and south-north, several times, and it provided reliable local transportation and hauling capacity. Throughout our ownership it has been stored in a garage or a carport, both in Colorado and in Kentucky, where we lived 25 years. We were very attentive to preventative maintenance. We had the oil changed every 3000 milesand had repairs made bycompetent mechanics as soon as they were needed. Complete service records going back to 1999 are included with the sale.
