99% Rust free numbers matching 1967 Volvo p1800. Or 1800s if you are a stickler for accuracy.
Runs, Drives, Stops, and is a blast to drive. No mechanical issues with aClear title in my name.
Quite a bit to list, i'll probably forget everything that's been done, but everything that has been done correctly. I've been restoring p1800's for almost 20 years.
THE GOOD:3rd owner.Records back through the 90's.Lots of extra parts.WORKING AC. Refurbished to work with modern refridgerant!!!! Needs a recharge currently but blows ice cold.Rebuilt B18 with weber carburator. Do not have the original S.U. setup. Personally i prefer the weber for reliability.Engine has roughly 25k since rebuild. total mileage is probably closer to 175,oooIPD Volvo logo'd aluminum valve cover. Which they got sued for, rare little accessory.No leaks!!!!!Front main, and rear seal are both silicone, not that cheap crappy felt seals everyone uses.IPD four into one racing header.Rebuilt factory Air conditioning system, able to accept modern refrigerant.Good chrome.Every trim part has been hand picked from multiple sources for best quality.Some of the stainless trim needs to be polished up, but everything is SUPER STRAIGHT.Grille and surround are both in well above average condition.Restored interior with new upper and lower dash pads. Each gauge carefully cleaned and reinstalled.Entire wiring harness cleaned, wrapped, and grounded properly at great cost of time (3 weeks of work) done personally by me.OVERDRIVE WORKS GREATNew old stock seats with headrests and PERFECT Recarro reclining mechanisms. I made from one amazing set from two very clean sets. These are the best original material seats around BAR NONE. They were wrapped up in the storage section of an old volvo shop in california for 30 years.
Really cool black headliner. The entire interior is one color! Not that weird perforated white vinyl they come with stock on the C pillars.Original mint condition interior panels are being installed currently, and pictures can be provided.This is a 99.9% rust free car. it spent most of its life in southern california, it has spent the last ten years in colorado. Never driven in the snow, and stored in a climate controlled garage.Comes with a multitude of extra parts.Real zenith wire rims with custom vintage volvo logo center caps. That I had made. One of a kind... Well, four of a kind I guess. These are real center lug spinner cap wire rims. NOT cheap swapmeet daytons. These are off of a 1970's mercedes SL. Very nice chrome, they accept tubeless tires.Speaking of tires, you won't have to shell out $400 on new ones, they are all in very good driving condition.Whole trunk full of goodies: Volvo Gas can, original mint condition spare with original tire and cover. tool roll. Jack, and rubber trunk mat.
Those are vintage LUCAS FOG LIGHTS with Bosch lenses. Not cheap aftermarket ebay ones.
No rust in any of the hidde, expensive to repair areas.
The wooden steering wheel is NOT included. I have a standard wheel i will be including for the sale price.That wheel has been with me for year, on every P1800 ive owned. I did not intend to photograph the car with it still installed, but the standard wheel is in storage and I wasn't able to install it in time. it is very nice restored condition with no cracks.
THE BAD:Small crack in the windshield. Two small rust spots. one is a bubble spot under the windshield gasket which is common.The other is on the rocker panel on the driver side. Behind the splash guard. Very small, not cancer. just needs to be addressed when getting repainted.Speedometer recently stopped working. Angle drive gear pin broke. Easy fix.
THE UGLY:The paint is shiny, but cracking in a few places. so it needs to be redone. A large area is chipping around the radio antenna. Luckily it isnt bare metal underneath, but the original paint, so its not rusting.
All the really tedious and hard to fix things on this car have been done and done correctly.There are not going to be any surprises with this car. Just get her repainted and she's good for another 50 years.
I drive the car regularly, I have never had a single issue. It's as solid a p1800 as you can find. Aside from the paint which needs redoing, it wont need any bodywork. So as a whole, its head and shoulders above any p1800 you can get for under $20k.
