Car description |
---|
This is a very interesting story: About 7 weeks ago I was looking for a car to restore in decent shape. I had bid on a few cars that appealed to me including the "brick" - a Volvo 240.
Well, my other bids were not accepted so I bought this car. Its a decent car with good bones - a good resto vehicle.
BU, I am selling it now so soon after buying it because my offer on a barn find Porsche 356B was accepted last week after the high bidder flaked! I could not fricking believe it!
So the brick, alas, must go.
It is registered and smogged in CA and I have used it up until the end of last week as a daily driver to work (280 miles round trip 3 times a week) with ZERO problems.
I am selling it locally for 1995.00 and I reserve the right to end auction early. Paypal only and 400.00 deposit is required upon end of auction.
This is an "as is-where is sale" no warranty or guarantee is offered.

Below is the original description from when I bought it.
1989 VOLVO 240 DL
This car is in very good condition for the year model. The paint is fading as do silver cars and Volvos in particular. No rust issue to be found. I’ve recently taken it to the certified garage to give it a good going over (I have receipts). All belts were replaced including the timing belt, lower front ball joints replaced, front brake pads replaced, rear pads are good, oil change and tune-up. The exhaust was replaced including the catalytic converter this past spring. I also had an over-drive by-pass installed…works much better this way I think. I just had new tires put on about three week back (might have 300 miles on them at best). The interior looks very good and rides good. Issues…the AC, I’m not sure about...may bechargeable, may not. I've already had several things checked and done, just haven't gotten around to the AC yet. The car is 28 years old and obviously not perfect. The odometer stopped around 128,000 and this is another item that is common for Volvo 240's...do your homework and Google it. The driver’s taillight lens/lamps is new. I've been taking the car out every day for past couple weeks to keep it stretched out. This was the reason for the good checkup…not enough exercise. This will make someone a wonderful daily driver and good on gas with 4 cylinder engine. This was considered one of the safest cars on the road in its day. Also, the spots you see under the car in the pics is water from the car wash. Doesn't drip or use oil.
