VOLVO 240
1989
160,000+ MILES
SILVER WITH BLACK INTERIOR
The body and interior are in excellent condition. The paint has the typical fading of a silver car or Volvo...which ever comes first. Runs pretty decent but could use a good tune-up. Tires have very good tread but show some age from sitting more than moving. The wheels are after market that I installed from another Volvo that I have. The AC does't blow cold air but not to say that it wouldn't if charged. One of the tail light lenses is cracked but you can find them on Ebay all day long. This would make a great first car for a teenager or just a good everyday driver. It's gets good gas mileage and if you're familiar at all with the Volvo 240 series...then you know about the safety ratings they received back in the day. I drove this car for about four months to work and back at 170 miles round trip with no issues. Was it like driving the Audi I had...No...but it got me there and back and kept the miles off the Audi. Everything on this car is manual except the transmission and that is just the way I like it. No bells and whistles. I'm not sure what the deal is with the mileage. I noticed on the vehicle report at one point it showed 130K+ and the odometer today only shows 127,241. I picked this car up at an auction and looking back at the odometer report it showed 126,501. I never gave it much thought at the time of whether or not it actually worked but apparently it doesn't...or at least correctly. Perhaps at some point in it's life someone may have tried to fix it or tamper with it, don't know...enough said. The heated seat work on the driver's side and not on the passenger. I going to let the auction run and see what happens this first round. if it doesn't sell then I'll pull, o through it, nd list it again at a later date. Here's a theory: If you get 1000 miles for every $100 spent...you've got your money's worth. How many people today spend $30,000 on a vehicle and never see 300,000 miles? Not to mention the taxes and interest they pay. I put over 10,000 in four months so I've got my money's worth. I believe that only a bus will take you a 1000 miles for less and that is only if you buy your ticket in advance. Think about it. Good luck and thanks for your inquiry!
