The short version: This is a mechanically excellent Volvo 240, ith 140,000 original miles, lean title, restored interior, nd over $2,000 of mechanic records within the last month, lus at least 20 or 30 hours of my own time and a few hundred $ in parts. The only thing I've not approached yet is the exterior paint & trim, nd a windshield replacement.~Here on eBay, here are garage queen 240's with half the mileage selling for twice as much. However, ost of those vehicles haven't done a thing to address 30 years of rubber rot. This one is good to go.Mechanically, his car is in excellent shape. I have a ton of records going back 10 years, howing regular oil changes, CV servicing, nd required repairs. I bought this months ago as a project car and daily driver. I love this car, ut after driving it to work for a month, 'm realizing I'm somewhat too tall for it. The seating and pedal positions don't play well with a few joint conditions I have. I also would prefer a wagon.I bought this car in moderate shape, nd put a ton of work toward a full restoration of the car to OEM spec. Mechanically, his car is in near perfect condition. I have records for what Bo Jonsson in San Mateo has done on the car, nd receipts for the work I did personally. I have a fine-grained inspection from him, nd you'll see that everything (besides the front brakes) mentioned in the inspection has been rectified. The latest record is a $1,200 order to replace just about every rubber suspension piece.Although the insides are superb, he big downside is the exterior. The car, t some point in its life, ad a bad paint job that's starting to peel and pinhole.I have much at leat than $3500 into this car. There are plenty of cheaper 240s for sale in much worse condition, o I'm pricing at what I think an pretty good one is worth. But I'm OPEN TO OFFERS if you can be reasonable about it. I see plenty of 240s in 'pristine' body condition for $3k, ut that's because they've never been touched, et alone driven, or many years. They would definitely need lots of suspension and engine rubber replacements. I also see plenty of 240s for $1,500 that do not have the service history and long-term trustability this vehicle does.Condition notes (Positives and negatives):+ ~146,000 original miles+ Brand-new balanced tires (Primewell, have records)+ A/C+ No rust (California car)+ Heated Seats+ Interior 100% Intact (I've replaced a few broken pieces with OEM replacements)+ No noticeable cracked plastics or torn seats+ Seat lumbar adjustment works+ All interior lights work+ 100% working OE speakers.
