1968 Beetle Convertible, Restored and mechanically had the 'once over' in 2020. Runs just great! Exterior: Adorning this curved steel paneled Beetle is the original color of Yukon yellow (paint refinished only a few years ago). Gaps are very nice, and the little running boards are all solid and covered in the correct ribbed rubber with new trim attached to the outside edges. Sporting its original refinished wheels with new trim rings, caps and tires. New bumpers and some exterior trim replaced. Newer convertible top and weather strip, including an all new rear window rubber seal, beautiful emblems and the twin chromed mini exhaust tips that peek out from under the curved bumper...all looking good for this buggy. Interior: With the seats and all other accompaniments being restored partly in 2018 and very recently in 2020, it won’t “bug†you when you sit and admire the simplicity of the very nice and tidy interior. Black vinyl covers the front buckets and rear bench. The dash, new carpet, new convertible top headliner, door panels, and interior surfaces for the car are very nice and well sorted. All of the levers and vents etc. have been restored. The gauges and switches all work. This little buggy is equipped with new seat belts, new rubber mats, new ribbed door sill covers, included also is a new Pioneer CD player, nice spare tire with cap and a nice fitted convertible top boot. Horn and back up lights not working. Drivetrain: This love bug sports a 1500cc engine which the previous owner stated has undergone a complete rebuild with new pushrod tubes, new carburetor, new tins, rear main seal, thermostat, plugs and wires with a new cap & rotor. A new clutch allows you to shift smoothly through the 4-speed manual transmission. You’ll be poised to bug out with a foot off the clutch and heel on the accelerator. Undercarriage: Areas where there was rust it has been removed and new metal welded in. We note some minor chipping of black paint on some of the suspension etc. of the undercarriage but nothing significant. Definitely maintains it’s structural soundness. Drive-Ability: This one does not disappoint, it always starts right up, it has that wonderful tinny sound that the new bugs severely lack. It wont bug you with a lack of get-up-n-go, the ride is just wonderful and it handles better than many other cars of the same vintage. With all working parts right, looking amazing and driving like a dream you can consider this beetle totally “de-bugged. (Validate entire description for accuracy before bidding/purchasing)
