Priced at a fraction of what it would take to complete the Electric conversion! This Classic VW Bug is awesome! It gets a ton of looks and people are blown away that it is Electric powered. Exterior:
This Beetle was a rock solid, rust free car before it’s restoration and EV conversion. It received a fresh paint job that shines bright. All of the chrome was also replaced: Bumpers, Wheel Covers, Headlight Trim are all new. It also has a super cool roof rack that was just installed. The graphic on the doors "It's Electric" can be taken off if desired. It looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor.
Interior:
The interior is also in excellent condition. The seats, door cards, dash and headliner are like new. The carpet is also in tip-top shape. All of the gauges are in great shape and in working condition. Additional gauges have been added to oversee the new electrical system. A custom cover has been made to cover the batteries that are in the back seat to create a clean, almost factory appearance.
Mechanical:
The conversion was professionally done with all high-quality components. It has a 120-volt system with a Curtis controller and a smart 110-volt on board charger, all concealed cleanly under the front hood. The high quality 120-volt DC motor is made in Belgium by Kostov Motors and is powered by 10 battery pack yellow top Optima batteries. An accessory battery is mounted under the hood with a trickle charger that powers all the lights and accessories. The restoration also included extensive mechanical maintenance. New shocks all around, new tires and new brakes were installed.
Performance:
The range is 15 to 20 miles depending on the type of driving. It can be recharged in about 4 hours. It currently is set up for a standard 110-volt plug which can be plugged into any standard outlet. I have also purchased the components to also be able to charge it at any public high-speed charging station, as well as utilizing a standard 110 outlet. I have not had a chance to install this, but the parts are included with the sale.
